Signs of Spring!!

I've been so happy to see the sun shining! The one thing I've been a little sketchy about with Springs' arrival is YARD WORK! This is our first "yard" and although we don't have to mow, I am in charge of plants/flowers, etc...

So, here I am in my first GARDEN!! ha ha ha! The location is right on our back porch! I planted a cherry tomato plant for starters! We'll see if I can keep it alive...if so, maybe we'll get a little more creative next year (and plant some green peppers or cucumbers)! I'm really excited to see if it produces anything! Isn't it so cute and little?!
There are so many gorgeous blossoms on the trees everywhere! These particular ones are nice to look at, but they really smell bad! I thought there had to be a dead fish somewhere in our yard because it was so strong last week...my friend said her mom thinks they smell like a stinky crotch....sorry if that was too descriptive for some of you, but i had to agree with it! Too bad, cuz they sure are pretty!
I've noticed since we've moved in that i have a weird infestation of potato-bugs (rolly-polys) on the lower level of our house...i know, SICK! I have no idea where they get in, but it really BUGS me! What, that was corny!
So, i put Brett to work...not only has he sprayed the inside borders of the house, but he went outside and sprayed the foundation of the house and all around the doors...hopefully this will solve the problem.
We have a little color in our yard! No thanks to me! Thank goodness for bulbs! It was a pleasant surprise to see the tulips starting to come up....i'm sure my neighbors are wondering when the "new people" are going to start taking care of their yard! I'm not sure what the white flowers are, but they're cute! I think I really need to brush up on my botany (is that the right word?)! Ingrid, where are you when i need you...please come out and design a beautiful yard for me.
Pretending to know what i'm doing....these sticks looked dead in the middle of a bush, so i took them out! Do you like my $1.99 purple gloves? I think they make me look official!

DRIVING RANGE....Nothin' like golfing to bring in the new season.
Me and Meg taking a break from crushing the golf balls! ha ha ha
As you can see (above) I play softball! I think the club is supposed to be upward...not backward?!?!? Trevor....please don't critique my golf form! ha
Meg used to take golf lessons....now that looks more like the right form!
No, we did not put that crack in the window....or did we?!
My sexy hubby showing us how to do it!
Brett and Brett....sorry you can see part of Bretty's panties....at least it's not crack, right?!
YAY FOR SPRING AND SUNSHINE!

What Does a Sausage Haus & A Birthday Boy Have in Common???

WEll, you tell me...i'll leave that up to you to decide!

I'm sorry we've been so BORING lately!! Just not a ton to blog about i guess. I was downloading pictures from my camera and there were only 7 new ones in the past month....as most of you know i take pics when we do anything or go anywhere, so that download tells you we really haven't been up to a whole lot!!

A few weeks back we had our usual Friday night date (we love to eat out----well mostly me, the cook)! We tried a new place that I'm sure was recommended by someone with XY--chromosome! Schmidt's Sausage HAUS  (just so the fellas know, there were no girls who looked like the one on the link at this joint!) is located downtown Columbus in Historic German Village. Obviously, they served German food which consisted of LOTS of Brats, Sausages, Meat, and more meat complete with a LIVE 2-man band on the weekends playing the accordian and other German instruments!! ha ha  We tried the buffet just to get a little taste of everything (definitely not part of any diet plan).  Brett really enjoyed it. This is the PERFECT place for a bunch of guys to go just before a big ball game!

I have to say my favorite part of the meal was dessert. Are you even surprised?!
If they're not known for their Brats, this GINORMOUS cream puff will put 'em on the map!
Yeah, it's true...pretty much the size of my hand! Bigger than a softball! This was a peanutbutter chocolate one....to die for!

Brett celebrated the BIG 2-6 last Wednesday!!!! We didn't really get to celebrate till the weekend. He had an anatomy exam Friday so most/all nights were spent studying. He did however get to open his presents on Wednesday! A fancy new pair of golf spikes and several rounds of golf should turn him pro in no time....watch out Immelman here comes Bretty!!!

I think he should become a pro-golfer to pay for his dental schooling....but in reality i think he is going to dental school so one day he can support his golf habit! He also got a GPS about a month ago...i was a little excited to use it, so he opened that one early!
Brett's mom sent a super "Party in a Box," complete with a birthday boy hat that brett wore the entire night....including the hours spent studying with a classmate! Silly boy! Happy Birthday Babe! In the words of Jihm, "now you can start rounding up to 30!" ha ha

On another note...i am SOOOO happy for the sun to be shining occasionally!! It has been a long, gray winter here and I cannot wait for summer! I don't want to jump too far ahead though, i'm especially trying to enjoy the cool (not freezing) mornings and mild (not frigid) afternoons at this point! I have to admit I got a little homesick last week when my friend sent me a text and asked if I wanted to come out and play catch! I would love to Brie, but you're in Utah! I think this might be the 1st summer i haven't played softball since....i don't know when! Tear.

Anyhow, the other night i looked out the kitchen window and much to my surprised saw these 2 deer standing at the edge of our "pond!" I was excited because i keep hearing about how Ohio has millions of deer (where do you think the name "BUCK-eye" came from) and i haven't seen any mountains AT ALL, so i guess they do exist, just in the trees? it's not the greatest picture because as soon as they saw me come out my back door they bounded off! But, i was pretty excited to see that the wildlife survived the winter as well!!
HAPPY SPRING!!!! We'll try to stop being so boring!

My contribution...

We have been ripped on quite a bit lately about not being "up to date" with our blogging......well that's life.  Just to quiet the boisterous few I've decided to actually make a small post and a little change on this blog.  If you notice you are now listening to "Suddenly Seymour."  Jami has never seen and/or heard of the movie, i was disappointed.  So for my family and for the few really cool people who know what this is from enjoy.....

ps  I know this is also a broadway play but who cares right?
