November in a Nutshell

Some friends invited us out to a Jazz game and we had a great time! It's been YEARS since we've been to a game, and the seats were great to boot!
Brett grew up with both Lyndzee and her husband Casey. Lyndz and I worked together as dental assistants for Dr. Anderton (now my father-in-law) and got to be really good friends. I think it's safe to say she might have had something to do with Brett and I starting to date!! :) Love this girl!
The weather in November was pretty incredible. We spend several days at the park, without jackets!

Emri has been helping Jet with the sounds the letters make...here she's quizzing him.
Our ward meets at 9:00 am on Sundays. This is my favorite time for church to start...we love having the afternoons to just lounge. I came downstairs one Sunday afternoon hoping for some cuddle time with my love, these two beat me to it!
The boys are thrilled when sweet baby Thea gets to come play :)
The new Ogden Temple is so, so beautiful. I love having it open again!
Emri's Kindergarten pictures! She's such a doll face...and getting too big too fast!
One of my favorite days of the school year...the both had their pilgrim feast/Indian pow-wow on the same days in school.
Like I mentioned....November weather was worth mentioning! I mean...when was the last time we played turkey tag on Thanksgiving without jackets, and not even a flake of snow?!
Love this sister of mine! I totally scored in the in-law department!
Brett got nominated to carve the bird. His dad was in South America on a humanitarian dental trip (what a guy!).
This lady... I can't say enough good about her! So thankful for her in my life! She hosted Thanksgiving dinner (even with her hubby out of town) and everything was perfect... even all 3 turkeys! ha! We love food!
A few of the babes getting started on dinner.
-Ike, Georgia, Nora-
Jet sat with Charlie and Webster....doesn't that look like trouble?!
 The "girl" table
Will he ever take a smiling pic? No....
Somehow Brett was a baby magnet this night... Ike is wondering why the heck he's the only baby not on HIS DADDY'S lap?!

Mindy playing some Bingo with the small ones!
Rick came home late Thanksgiving night so that Saturday the WHOLE dang family took over a movie theater and saw "Penguins of Madagascar" so we could all be together. I love how important family time is to this bunch. We sure have a lot of fun together...and usually cause a scene (like we did blocking off this hallway while trying to get everyone in)! Pretty Thankful!

Ike @ 14 Months

The boy loves his "tiny blanky" as termed by Jet. He loves to drag it around with him everywhere.

Emri wanted to be the photographer....
Passing time at church with daddy
Does great at the salon for haircuts :)
The weather has been dreamy, so we've been taking advantage at the parks.
I can't seem to get rid of his bottles.... then he won't be my baby anymore! He drinks a bottle first thing in the morning, then again after his nap. I love the snuggles.
We're in "this phase" these days!! One part of me doesn't care because destroying the kid cup cupboard keeps him busy while I cook dinner, but the other part of me hates cleaning it up 5 times a day!

Ike is TERRIFIED.... no, MORTIFIED of the drive-thru carwashes.

I feel slightly bad for taking these pics!

He is quite the ham these days.... always pulling faces while we try to feed him!

Ike and one of his best buddies, Grandma Max.
The cutest little pumpkin in the patch!
He made a darling little "Jack-Jack" for Halloween!

At 14 months, Ike:
  • can find his eyes when asked
  • "blows kisses" by sticking his finger in his mouth and spitting on it or putting a hand to his lips and spitting on it.
  • Uses sign for "all done" at meals by frantically waving his arms in the air....or crazily throwing his arms back and forth across his tray on the high-chair, completely clearing it of any food left.
  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVES Daddy right now--and if Daddy is home he wants NOTHING to do with Momma. Still not sure how I feel about this!
  • He has started saying "Momma" more often and says Uh-oh "Uh-Uh"
  • Just learned how to go DOWN the stairs on his own.
  • Poor guy has cried MORE in the last month than I think his whole little life combined (which still isn't a lot)! He just seems to be extra sensitive lately and I'm blaming it on some possible top teeth trying to come in.
  • Has pretty much made the transition to just one nap/day; usually lasting 3-3.5 hours.

Fall Leaves, Pumpkin Walk, and an INCREDIBLE Halloween!

What do you do in the FALL when the house you moved into has NO trees?!?! You go back to your old neighbors house and play in their piles of leaves!! We made sure to tell our friends to let us know when they were raking leaves so the kids could come jump in the piles...

 Ike was NOT a fan!
For a family night we drove to Logan and went to the Pumpkin Walk with Ryan & Jaimi's family....and everyone else in Cache Valley! The line was SO long, but luckily it only took about 45 minutes of waiting to get in (and it wasn't too cold).

We've never been before, but all these different book and movie scenes are created with pumpkins... This was our favorite: The Lego Movie!

 Doesn't Olaf look perfect?!
Halloween this year was a blast! I always want to dress up, but never end up planning anything out. A few years ago Brett's sister Mindy and her family were the Incredibles and I've had the idea in the back of my mind ever since. It was the perfect year to do it...same number of kids in the right order even! I still can't believe Brett agreed to wearing tights around! haha! The costumes were so fun to put together! I found a template online and made the Incredible logos out of felt. We had several costume items already in our closets. I ended up buying my and E's red shirts, black undies for the kids, a few pairs of red tights, and orange duct tape for the belts...maybe spent $35-40 total? I thought it was a pretty good deal!
Jet as "Dash." He got to dress up a of couple times... this was for his preschool party.
Jet's class at Miss Jackie's Little School of Fish
We did our usual trick-or-treating in Morgan at the business trick-or-treat. I love that they start in the afternoon. We COULD NOT have had more perfect weather!!
 "Mr. Incredible and Jack-Jack"
Trick-or-Treating with our "Frozen" cousins. Gotta love the themed families!! We got lots of attention!
 Morgan has the best treats!

We always make a trip next door to Great Grandma Sugar's. She doesn't turn her porch lights on for others to come, we just go through her back door to show her our costumes!

A bunch of the cousins.... I took Emri and Jet to a few houses in the neighborhood after it got dark.
Emri as "Violet"
I love how excited they get...running from house to house!
 Me as "Elasti-girl."
This Halloween by far was my favorite of all time! WAAAAAY more fun to dress up than not to! Now, I need to start planning for next year!
