Jet @ 3 Years

Height: 35 3/4 inches (13%)
Weight: 29.2 lbs (22%)

Oh this silly 3 year old. I'm a lucky girl to be his momma! Getting measured at the doctor for his well check.
Here are a bunch of pics from the past 8 mos or so (I think it uploaded them in order from most recent to older)...

Cleaning his crazyon "art" off the walls.
We were playing this game of "HeadBandz". Jet doesn't know what character he is so he has to ask questions to figure it out. It started like this:
Jet: "Am I a horse?"
Mom: "yes!!"
Jet: "Am I Jesus?"
Mom: hahahahahaha
 Obsessed with anything "Minja Turtle."
Love his dreamy eyes, long lashes, and those plump lips!

He loves all of his uncles, but has a special place in his heart for Uncle Brody.

One of our nightly snuggles last summer before the chair got moved into the baby room.
It was a sad day for Jetty (ok me too), when we sold our "white car" (Tucson) and drove the minivan home. :(

He definitely knows how to spend a day on the lake.
I have so many pictures of Jet sleeping in the last couple of months... he'd been having a hard time going to bed at bedtime, so I did away with naps...sort of! It's tough to make it through the whole day.

A few things about Jetty boy at 3 yrs old:

  • Jet is seeming like such a BIG boy all of a sudden. Perhaps it's because since early December he: finally figured out how to climb out of his crib, now sleeps in a bunk bed, has been potty trained, and is no longer napping! What the?! Where did my baby Jet go?!
  • Potty training was a little hard for the first couple of weeks and then it just clicked. We've had very few accidents and he wakes up most mornings dry. I think it was a good idea to wait a little longer to start him.
  • He sings his ABC's and counts to 20 (we're working on the sounds).
  • He loves going to Target! One Friday night for a "family date" which usually includes dinner out and wandering Target as we pulled into the parking lot, Jet was so excited. He just blurted out, "Oh I jus wuv, wuv, Tahghet!" Brett and I were cracking up! Brett probably wonders what I've done to his boy!
  • This boy changes his clothes usually 2-3 times a day! It about drives me bonkers! Most of the time he first gets dressed into a tshirt and basketball shorts (like daddy), and if we have to run errands in the cold I will end up making him change into something warmer (much to his dismay). Then of course as soon as we're home he changes back into "summer" type clothes. New ones of course...not the first ones he chose that morning. I do think he's a bit hot blooded...he gets warm pretty easily. I've definitely learned to "pick my battles" with this one. Usually he just wears what he wants because it's not worth me fighting him about it!
  • He always wants a napkin and wipes his face and fingers several times while eating. He doesn't like to feel messy.
  • He is a big tease and likes to push big sisters buttons!
  • He is very, very sweet with baby Ike. I've never seen him act negative towards him. Usually he just wants to be near Ike (doesn't ask to hold him much), and kiss his head.
  • He likes nursery.... although during sacrament meeting he can usually be heard (by the majority of the congregation) saying, "I don't want to go to nursery. Let's go home. Are we done yet?"
  • LOVES to drink and would most definitely consume all of his calories in liquids if I would let him. I wouldn't say he's a "picky" eater, it's just more that "eats like a bird"...usually in small amounts. It also takes him a REALLY long time to eat. Can we say easily distracted?
  • He still loves to make messes. A clean room is not a fun room. Must leave a trail wherever he goes!
  • He is an active boy and always wants to go outside. It's been a hard winter with not much snow very often to play in so he's had a bit of cabin fever (we all have)!
  • Jet loves to wrestle! I'd dare say his favorite time of day is when daddy comes home from work. He can barely wait long enough for dad to change out of his scrubs before they can wrestle.
  • Toys he loves right now are: "Minja Turtles", Thomas and Friends trains/tracks, and Cars.
  • Loves TMNT movies. Shows he likes are "Little Einsteins," "Backyardigans," "Jake & Neverland Pirates."
  • Jet has always had a bit more of a demanding personality and you WILL know if he's not happy with something. But, he also does have a sweet sensitive side too! He gives awesome hugs and will always offer unsolicited "I love you's." He is also a very polite boy and is the first to say "please and thank you."
Life is definitely brighter and more exciting with this boy in it! We love you "To Infinity & Beyond" Jetty boy!!

A Little Valentine's WEEK Love!

We LOVE Valentine's Day at our house.... this year we celebrated for several days in a row. Mostly in the form of sugar cookies! Some friends (the Rowes) invited us over to decorate cookies and the kids loved it!
 Emri with Kendyl
A couple days later we made some cookies of our own.....
Valentine's morning was a hit. And it was all thanks to a very thoughtful DADDY! I had bought these Valentine suckers for the kids.

Without any discussion Brett came home the night before, with cards and slap bracelets....
flowers for Emri....
and I LOVE YOU balloons!
He wasn't scheduled at work till a little later in the morning, so he made heart pancakes for all of us.
Emri was beyond excited for her Valentine's party at preschool. We opted for a prize this year instead of treats. She colored the cards for her friends.
That afternoon we had our cousins Tabitha and Loralye come over and frost cookies with us.
For dinner we ate heart-shaped pizza....
...and for dessert, daddy surprised us with chocolate fondue!!! He's the best, and so dang thoughtful!
Emri liked the strawberries and swedish fish best.
Jet was weirded out by the idea, which surprised us!
Ike REALLY wanted some but wasn't allowed. Mean Momma. :)
In all it was a fun few days!! We're officially sugar-overloaded! Brett and I got a babysitter the next morning and had a couples massage and went to brunch for our V-Day date! It was perfect!

How to Blow $50.... FAST

So aside from the CIRCUS tickets themselves.... the moment you step inside the 3-ring madness, you are basically forced to hand over your cash! Brett nor I had ever been to a circus...as kids OR adults. I was NOT prepared!

HAD I KNOWN THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW:

I still would have paid to get the kids faces painted.
Too cute not to!
I would have taken my own snacks in a bag (normally I'm prepared with this stuff), instead of wasting my money on stale popcorn, and a really crappy snowcone, and cotton candy the kids BEGGED for but didn't really even like!
I then would have let the kids use the treat cash for a ride on an elephant before they spent it all on gross snacks.... That would have been cool. Poor money management on the parents part here. So this time, instead of an elephant ride they got a really cool picture of themselves in front of the elephants other people were riding because THEIR parents probably brought their own snacks and had money for that kind of thing!
I think Emri is now aspiring to be a circus hula-hoop girl....
...and Jet wants to play with large kitty cats.
Also, if I knew then what I know now... I would have had Brett take the last hour off work, so we could hit the early showing. There was more than one meltdown before the night ended. Even superheroes get a little tired at times.
And lastly, I'd like to see the real deal, Barnum Bailey.... this "Jordan World Circus" was just ok for me, but maybe a bigger one would be better? And not so ghetto?! I'm not sure what I'm expecting here, I guess it is a circus....
