2 MONTHS!

Emri turned 2 months on the 20th! It's so hard to believe...when I realize it's almost May I start to wonder where I was during the months of March and April?! A friend of mine takes pictures of her kids each month sitting in the same chair so she can see their monthly growth. Thanks for the great idea Laura! So, here's E at 2 months sitting in my rocker...
At her doctors visit yesterday she got her shots :( And here are the bandaids to prove it. She was very brave! Mom on the other hand.....

She weighs a whoppin 12 lbs 6 oz (81% percentile) and measures 22 1/2 inches long(49% percentile)...hmmm, short and chubby?!?!?! STILL VERY CUTE!!
Emri took a soothie "plug" in the hospital then gave it up. I've tried a few others since and she hasn't loved any of them. Last week she took terrible naps (if any at all) so this week I tried the soothie again and I swear her eyes closed as soon as she got a good suck! Naps have been great this week! I'll keep my fingers crossed! She likes to reach up and push it in...smart little stink!
Sometimes she's so serious!
Ahhh, she also is loving to suck on her hands and is becoming quite drooly! She has spit from ear to ear when she's got her hands in her mouth! She loves to suck the water off them while she gets her bath too! It makes the funniest noise!
Yes, the flash made this super bright, but you can definitely start to tell she's got blue eyes....which all of our kids are bound to have since Brett's and mine are also blue.
Couldn't resist...sometimes she likes to wear her clothes creatively when we get ready in the mornings! Don't worry...she didn't go out of the house topless!

Friends With Hobbies....

I am so lucky to have such talented friends here in Ohio and also back in Utah. My good friend Kara did a couple of photo shoots with Emri at 1 week and 3 weeks old. The shots she got were priceless to me and Brett! Some of you may have seen these already on her birth announcement, but I wanted to post them on here so everyone could see what a great job she did...and how cute Emri is too :) These are just a few of my favorites....

I told you she is AMAZING!! She is available to share her talent with you....Kara will be in Columbus thru May, then is temporarily in SLC, Utah from June-September and the Boise, Idaho area from September-December 2009. She is already booking appointments so here's her contact info if you're interested! You can check out
or email her at: lkhagberg@yahoo.com if you're interested!

Also, when speaking of talent, I have to tell you about Jaime, one of my best friends from Utah.
Jaime is so creative and aside from being a full time mom of 2 darling boys, she has a little side business as a hobby of designing wedding, baby, and graduation announcements that she does from home. She created Emri's beautiful birth announcement for us and I was SO HAPPY with the result!

If you have a creation waiting to be made...contact Jaime @
jaime_colemere@yahoo.com
Yes, she does live in Utah, but is willing to work with out-of-staters (like us)!

Thanks Kara and Jaime for being so talented! We love you!!

Papa, Birthday, Easter and some random questions...

Papa Reed came out to meet his 1st grandbaby! He's in love with her like the rest of us! I think my title I've held for 26 years as "daddy's girl" dissolved after this visit...there's a new girl for him to spoil now...and I'm just fine with that!

Brett's birthday was on the 9th. He took the day off of school to spend it with his girls! We loved having him to ourselves! He got breakfast in bed, opened presents, read to Emri and helped get her ready for the day. He took me to my ortho appt (exciting for him i know), we took him to lunch at Potbelly's (a yummy sandwich place we'd never been to) and we went to the mall to find him some bday clothes, which turned out to be a bust because he wasn't in the mood to try stuff on...so I'll have to go later and pick something out! That night I cooked him a special meal and later he played basketball with the guys. Friday night the celebration continued and we had "scotch pancakes" for a friend bday "breakfast" dinner which is Kara's birthday tradition that she has so nicely shared with us!
I got Brett some new bball kicks and Emri gave him a fancy new basketball!
It was fun having Emri's first Easter! The Easter bunny found us and left her a bunch of chocolate....silly Easter Bunny! I guess we'll have to take care of the chocolate for her so it doesn't go to waste!
We got fun packages in the mail from both grandparents (including some cute swimwear Emri will be modeling later this year, thanks mom)! E looked very sweet at church! We made it through our first 3 whole hours of church and she slept the whole time...well, until the last 10 minutes when she got hungry!
Emri in her fun Spring outfit!

We celebrated Brett's bday again Easter night with dessert! He requested "B.T.S." cake this year...it was so yummy! I ate it the next day too...for breakfast...and lunch...and dessert after dinner!
Happy Birthday you silly boy! We hope you enjoyed your birthday week!
We're glad we have such fun friends....who are always willing to eat dessert with us!
On Monday Emri was not herself....I think she got spoiled at church by being held the whole time she slept! She usually goes down in her crib really well for her daily naps. Yesterday she wanted nothing to do with it! She was tired and restless and didn't really even get comfortable with me holding her. In the middle of her fit, I set her on this pile of laundry to change over the loads of wash I was doing. Between the sound of the running water in the washer and the hum of the dryer she was asleep! Don't be fooled, she only took a little cat-nap (long enough for a pic) then was awake again! She didn't take a real nap till 4 pm and by then she was exhausted! What a cute little tired baby!
Random Questions/Thoughts on My Mind:

We seem to experience diaper blowouts frequently...usually up the back! All you mothers out there,What is your diaper of choice? I'd like some feedback please :) Now, it's worse because at 6 weeks E's poop actually started to smell!

Why does my favorite band have to come in concert on a Sunday this summer?
LAME Columbus. Maybe next year fellas! Joe Don, you're still my #1 crush :)

Why did I get SO swollen during the end of my pregnancy?! I'm guessing it had to do with work since Crystal and Melissa (yeah Melissa you're almost done) went through the same thing?! Dang hygiene! All I can say is I was disgusted...as I'm sure you all are looking at these PHAT PHEET!! This was the week prior to delivery. Brett had to pry the jewelry off my toes, as I was losing circulation! I want to cry everytime I see this picture...but all I can do is laugh!
So glad to have ankle bones again!
Why am I still in braces? At my last appointment the Dr noticed my 2nd molars are now in crossbite. Sucks. I'm wearing these super stiff bands now from the lingual of my upper to the buccal of my lower 2nd molars 24/7....totally crosses my occlusion and is wearing my cheek raw. And...that is on top of the class III bands I was already wearing 12 hours a day! Dr is thinking they'll be off this summer. I hope so, because I was planning on a month ago! AWESOME!
That's all of my randomness...thanks for humoring me and reading till the end!
