ROCKBRIDGE @
HOCKING HILLS
Brett and I ventured to Hocking Hills last week while he was still on a break from school and I had a day off. We have been told that Hocking Hills is the closest you'll get to feeling like you're in the mountains here in Ohio. Mind you...they're called "hills" and not mountains for a reason!
There are several different sites to see, but we only did one on our little outing. We hiked about 2 miles to this natural Rockbridge formation. This view is from underneath the bridge. A riverbed leads up to the bridge but it was all dried up. I'm sure it's really pretty when there's water flowing between the two rock formations (yes, my bump is becoming noticeable).
It was a fun little hike and I was excited to be out and about instead of trapped in a dental office! I did feel a little at home being out in the trees in the Ohio "mountains!" The weather here has been gorgeous! I think in a couple more weeks we'll head back to the hills and enjoy the Fall colors when the leaves have changed.

Like Father Like Son?!?!
For any of you who know Brett's dad, you'll get a kick out of this picture! Who stands right in front of the TV to watch it?  ....Sometimes for several minutes, sometimes a whole show! I think they have other tasks in mind, so this makes it look like they are on their way to doing something else?!

FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL
This is what our lives have revolved around for the past month (and several more to come)!! I love this time of year....change of season and football is in full swing! Growing up with 4 brothers really helped me come to love sports---especially football!

At the end of August Brett flew out west for the annual "In-Laws & Outlaws" Boise Live Fantasy Football Draft. Yes, for many of you this seems silly, but it is a pretty big deal in Brett's family. Brett couldn't make it last year because we had just moved to Columbus. He really enjoyed his time this year being able to spend a weekend with the boys in Boise.
Here are the league members minus only a couple. It consists of Brett's brothers/bro-in-laws, cousins, uncles, and uncles of cousins! They travel from near and far...Seattle, SLC, Pocatello, Colorado, Texas and Columbus!!
Aside from the actual draft, the boys enjoyed a testosterone packed game of flag-football, movies, dinner out, catching up, lunch provided by Uncle Mike, lots of smack talk, and apparently a bet that Jeff wouldn't jump into the nasty duck poop infested pond!
Some of the guys decided to go retro with the stache! Apparently Brett didn't get the memo or he would've been all over that!
"Draft Day" where they actually reserve a conference room at their hotel and get the job done!
Rod with his draft strategy binder....yes, I told you this was serious! Thanks for everyone who makes this fun tradition possible. I know Brett enjoyed seeing all of you, especially all the out-of-towners that we don't get to see very often!

Last week I got back from a 9 day trip to Utah! My main reason for going out....football! My youngest brother is in his senior year of high school and I went home to see a couple of his football games. This is one thing I've missed about not being home at this time of year. Kolby lives for football and had some heartache with not being able to play last year due to transferring schools. He has worked his tail off and it really shows this year! Kolby is #21...On offense he's a receiver and defense he plays linebacker. Yes, I stole these pics off his school website, because they're much better than what I got from the stands!
Making a tackle
Sac #1 of 5 vs Olympus
Sac #2
Going out for a pass
Carrying the ball on kickoff/receive team
Aonther tackle
I just love this boy! Obviously I'm a proud sister! He has really had to work hard and prove himself to his new coaches as he came as a transfer student. I think they've realized his talent though....he rarely comes out of the game...offense or defense! (Except for the game he was sick and puking on the sidelines and even then he wasn't out much)!

What else did I enjoy while I was in UTAH????.......
Spending time with family (my mom, dad's sisters and a cousin)
Going back to the HS days and helping Kolby ask a girl to Homecoming!
Celebrating Courtney and Liam's 1st birthdays!
Hangin' out with my wonderful sister-in-laws...
...and my sweet nephews and nieces!
Spending time with lots of friends....these 2 are always good for a night of laughs! I also saw some college roomies and friends from HS...Katie was home from California the same time so it was fun to see her...although I didn't have my camera on me!
Seeing my brand new niece one day old!
Tabitha Erica Palmer...weighing in at a whopping 9 lbs 8oz! Isn't she beautiful?!
The proud mommy Michelle (Brett's younger sis)
Spending quality time w/ my momma!
Celebrating Kolby's 18th birthday!
Seeing grandmas and grandpas! Our little one on the way is the 1st grandbaby on my side and also the 1st great-grandbaby for my gma & gpa Brklacich. They are pretty excited!
As rowdy as they are...I always love going home to my boys!
Especially this one! I was so glad to actually get out for a couple of Kolby's games....(every Friday night I get about 10 phone calls from my mom letting me know what's happening during his games!) I was also happy to come home to my sweet hubby in Columbus! I really missed him! (I think he really enjoyed having the bed all to himself while I was away though). I got delayed in St. Louis on my way home because there was a severe windstorm coming through Ohio (due to the hurricanes) and they wouldn't let anyone land at the airport. Luckily our house stayed in tact, but there were/are several people we know affected and some are still without power. I wish I would've taken my camera with me to work on monday...there we huge trees down everywhere. Some even uprooted. We were glad to be safe and I'm glad I got out of that airport!

AND, last but not least....Football is definitely happening around these parts as well. Watch out for all the CRAZIES....Buckeye Season is in full swing! We went to the game on Saturday with some friends. Brett and Dallin in front of the Horseshoe.
Amanda and I climbed on the boys' shoulders to get a better view through the crowd of the band entering the stadium from the pep rally.
Enjoying the game....even though it was a sweaty 85 degrees!
(I thought it was supposed to be Fall?)
So there you have it...our past month in a nutshell...with lots of pictures as always!

What's "GROWIN'" On Around Here?

So, I guess I "forgot" to post this picture of the two surprise gifts Brett got me for my birthday way back in July.....
Why on earth would he give me this pregnant Willow Tree figurine? He also bought this rocker to put in our soon to be nursery!! We will be putting it to use sometime around February 27th!
This picture was at 10 weeks. I'm almost 15 weeks now!!
We are thrilled!

Catching Up

Wow, has it really been almost a month since our last post? The Olympics are over so I guess I can't use the "we're staying up late to watch swimming and sand volleyball" excuse for not posting!
We celebrated our 3rd Anniversary recently! It was a school night and Brett had an exam the next day....I thought we'd be going out since Brett was in charge, but instead I came home from work to this wonderful surprise!! Homemade pizza by candlelight! I love this man! Those flowers were delivered to me at work! All the girls were jealous!
Thanks for the past 3 years babe! You are amazing!
Brett has spent SEVERAL hours (that probably add up to several days) on the fairway this summer! It has been so nice for him to have a laid back summer schedule to relax and prepare for the busy year ahead! We went on a double-date to the golf course with Brett and Meg. The pink and orange balls really helped us...so did all the golf tees sticking out of megan's hair! I actually had/hit/made/shot (?) par on one hole!

Last weekend several of us girls got together for a much needed GNO!
Amanda, Rachel, me, Ashley, Raquel, Sherri, Meg.
First we went to dinner, then made our way downtown to see.....
THE LION KING!!!
Much to the dismay of the chaperrones and "Disney" Sherri managed to sneak a few pics of us in the theater while we waited for the show to start!
It was such a good show! I was SOOO impressed by all the costumes and the stage set! I loved every second of it! If any of you are still wondering if you should buy tickets, I'd highly recommend it! We had a great time! Thanks Sherri for putting it all together!
