Black Island Farms Field Trip

E's preschool group does a field trip to Black Island Farm. The older 2 kids and I went while Momma Max stayed home with Ike. I was worried it would be too cold for him...we actually had gorgeous weather, but it was fun to have some quality time with the big kids!

The tractor took us out to the patch to pick a pumpkin...the kids raise their hand when they find the one they want then the "farmer" (read: some kid that looked about 14) came and cut it for them!

Emri and her buddies Ryder and Luke
Little School of Fish...E is 4th in from the right
There are some fun things for the kiddos to do.....
I would by far rather have a corn box at my house than sand box any day. Gonna have to remember this for when we have our own home again!
The huge slides are a hit! They spent most of their time here!
Em and Luke are pretty tight :)

Lovin' these nice fall days! Wish they'd stay longer!

Ike @ One Month

The monthly kid in a chair pictures continue :)

  • his cheeks and thighs are filling out nicely!
  • he is a very peaceful boy and the only time he ever cries much is at night to wake me up to eat!
  • wakes up once at night to eat
  • is getting more alert
  • will take a bottle
  • has a bit of reflux....and is on an RX we are all too familiar with. Maybe one day my babies won't need medicine to eat without it hurting.
  • likes the swing....my first kid that will contently sit in it! He likes to nap in it too :)
  • has a new nickname from Emri "Ike-a-rumba!"
  • fits in perfectly with our family!!

Fall Fun Days

We've been staying busy these days and trying to take advantage of the gorgeous fall days. Here's some random shots of what we've been up to!

Feeding the {AGGRESSIVE} ducks at the Layton Park. The kids decided higher ground was the safest option!
I really wanted to take the kids to the zoo, but didn't dare attempt all 3 kids on my own! Luckily Britt was in town and came to spend the day with us and help me :)
Brody surprised us by coming after he ran some errands! Jet was so excited!
My kids adore their aunt and uncle!
Some of my besties from high school got together for a GNO to celebrate Katie's upcoming wedding! YEAH!!
A little Anderton shin-dig allowed us to get a pic of the 2013 crop of Anderton babies! One more boy on the way in December!
~Babies Georgia, Ike, & Nora~
I LOVE this beautiful path in our neighborhood!
On days that are too chilly to play outside, the kids like to show me their "collections" on the stairs.
I had my first real canning experience and now feel so domesticated! :)) A couple friends and I made applesauce and apple pie filling! The apples even came from a tree in our backyard! Emri helped for a minute.
And this wasn't particularly something WE did, but it's exciting nonetheless! My older brother Kade was successful on his once-in-a-lifetime bull moose hunt!
 Very cool!! Congrats bro!

Ike's Blessing Day

It was a pretty special day for this little one. He looked so handsome, just 3 weeks old! Brett gave Ike a beautiful Priesthood blessing surrounded by great men in our families. I have a more detailed record in my personal journal, but some of the things that were mentioned in his blessing were a keen mind and thirst for knowledge, leadership, courage, a protector, loving, caring, a knowledge of the love Heavenly Father has for him, and to live after the legacy of his great grandfather who he was named after.
Our matching family....that I DID NOT plan! Brett actually got ready and left for meetings before any of the rest of us had gotten ready. I must have been thinking in blue that day!
4 Anderton generations
Sweet Ike and great Grandma "Sugar"
4 Brklacich generations
Momma Max and Papa
Gma & Gpa Anderton (ikes face in this pic makes me laugh so hard)!
Ike and his Brklacich uncles/aunts
The weather cooperated and it was a gorgeous day! We did a luncheon with our families at our house after church.

Cousin Mac just dying to hold Ike, he's a cutie!
Emri always loves getting in on the cuddle action
It was an awesomely, exhausting day!
The older kids were both blessed in Ohio, so we had much support of friends when family couldn't be there...this was neat to be surrounded by all of our family and feel of their love and support for our little family and sweet baby Ike. It was a great day!!

AYSO: Purple Unicorns UNITE!

Well I guess it's official....I drive a minivan now, so the next step is to sign your kids up for soccer, right?! Emri was pretty excited to play soccer this year, and even more excited Daddy was her coach.

She was pretty aggressive the first game of the season and got right in the mix of girls to drive the ball down the field....

Then she started wearing this headband of daddy's and something changed! She was more excited to flit around the pack of girls like a butterfly than to get in a kick the ball! haha! She sure looked cute wearing it though!

Each week she had lots of fun and was just thrilled to be there! We'll see if the excitement continues next spring.
Most of the time Daddy had a little assistant coach on the field with him.
Grandma Sharon came out to a game. Momma Max was at several games as well...just must not have been the games I took pictures at?!
 Great season PuRpLe UnIcOrNs!!!
