my sweet new niece!

oh, the best kind of hair to rub my nose in!
good work mama
Kade, Michelle, Keeley & Ayden
....a very excited brother to meet his new baby :)
ah, i'm an auntie...I could just hold her all day!
Pretty sure this tough guy just turned into a completely protective, softie when he saw her for the first time! Congrats Kade and Michelle!

Logan Playdate

Melissa and I loaded up our 4 kids into her large car and headed to Logan for the day. Crystal took us to this fabulous park where the kids literally got lost inside all the amazing playground features! Can I tell you how pretty much impossible it is to get three 2 year olds looking at the camera at the same time for a picture?!

The kids ran till their faces were red (or at least Emri's was)....
...and we enjoyed our time catching up with eachother! I just love these girls!
The kids loved sucking on these little water misting spouts, that I'm pretty sure were NOT intended to be drinking fountains. Gross.
Parker getting lots of attention, whether he wanted it or not! The girls were trying to hold him down for a picture!

TOFW

How happy am I that I finally got to join in on the new tradition all my girls-in-law started while I lived away?! We met in Logan for an amazing session of inspiring speakers at TIME OUT FOR WOMEN, headed back to Jaimilyn's house for chocolate fondue and girl talk till the wee hours of the morning...

....then back to TOFW for more inspiration the next morning. I was so excited when KARA called me a few weeks before the event to see if I could go with her....and since I was already going she met up with us and joined the fam for the day. I'm so glad they moved west too....

These are the beautiful women in the family I was lucky enough to marry into. I say that growing up with 4 crazy brothers earned me the right to add 6 sisters and another amazing mom to my life! The theme of TOFW was "Choose to Become;" to become something you are currently not. I easily have my work cut out for me just by looking to these amazing women I shared the weekend with as my examples. Courageous, thoughtful, Christ-like, sincere, patient, generous, creative, accepting, faithful, organized, ....I could go on and on.
Thank you Sharon for making this possible, Jaimi for letting us invade your house, and to all of our hubbies who were in charge of the kiddos while we played!

Jet @ 7 Months

oh how those blue eyes melt my heart!
he's gonna give sis a run for her money soon!

he's really into this superman pose while on his tummy...arms and legs flailing about (and apparently it helps if he sticks his tongue out)
loves his exersaucer....it's the only way i can get things done without him getting into trouble now that he's somewhat mobile!
At 7 Months Jet
  • responds to his name
  • likes to snack on Puff and Yogurt Melts
  • can sit up on his own
  • giggles when he gets lotioned after baths
  • loves to grab our faces with all his might and pull us in for an open-mouth attack
  • I finally stopped waking him up for his late feeding....I was too paranoid to do it sooner since we'd left him a couple times with my mom. I wanted to insure that he'd sleep through the night for her. He's done great without it (i should have done it sooner)!
  • is rolling around to get to where he wants to be!
  • Sleeps ~11 1/2-12 hours at night. 2-3 naps/day

Kade & Michelle's Shower

Momma Max and I threw a shower for my brother Kade and his girlfriend Michelle....expecting a sweet baby girl!
I've become quite a fan of the diaper cake as a gift/decoration combo. It's nice to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, and so practical! All of the flowers on the cake are clips for baby girls' headbands :)...my other favorite gift/decor, the clotheslineMichelle got a lot of support from family and friends. Let's just say this little girl won't go without cute clothes/accessories any time soon!I was busy doing other stuff (like stocking food) so I didn't get a whole lot of pics of people who came....but I do LOVE this picture of my aunt. Classic Jana. She laughs more than any person I know, and i love it!
And of course....Grandma muggin' on Jet boy :)
Baby girl is now here.... Pics to come (because I'm still playing catch-up)

White Water Clips

A clip of Big Kahuna.....Our river guide, Gary, was awesome! On the calm sections of the river he had us do different "balance" and "trust" games. This particular one we each took turns standing on the nose of the raft while our "crew" paddled in circles, gradually getting faster. The water was quite chilly! We had a great time!

Couples Retreat, Jackson Hole

We finally, after years (literally) of planning... working out schedules... arranging kids......school graduations....finding babysitters for 24 kids.... and taking work off.....were able to go on a couples retreat with Brett's parents, siblings and spouses! Jackson Hole, Wyoming you were a little piece of heaven!

The Grand Tetons, so beautiful.
Our first day was adventurous, and not only because the 3 ("wussy") daughter in laws sported these sexy outfits!

Our group went white water rafting on the Snake River! It was a blast and I'm dying to go again! You can check out our raft Float-O-Graphs HERE. I was kinda bummed cuz I switched someone spots so they could row....and it was right before the Big Kahuna Rapid which is where all the pics are taken! FYI---those of us in wet-suits stayed toasty warm! It was totally worth the $7rental!That night we were entertained by the Bar J Wranglers. Lots of singing, laughs, and a tin plate full of "chuckwagon dinner" which consisted of bbq meat, baked potato, cornbread, & beans. This is a rare picture....all the adults at once with no kids! In couples: Jami & Brett, Jared & Ingrid, Mindy & Marty, Trevor & Megan, Ric & Sharon, Tiff & Jim, Ryan & Jaimi, Michelle & Jared.I know, you're used to seeing our kids on here....so this is probably a waaaay to0 big overload of Brett and I. :)

Jami, Mindy & Sharon---my A.MA.ZING. M-I-L.We stayed in side-by-side condos at Teton Village. At night we'd gather together for games, dessert, and chitchat. We brought this game which is always worth a few laughs!

...i wish i could remember the words they were acting out....NONE of them seem to be on the same brain wave :)On our "free day" we took a beautiful boat ride across Jenny Lake, then hiked to Hidden Falls.

Ryan & Jaimi, Ingrid & Jared, Jami & BrettI know I keep saying this, but I LOOOOOVE being back in the mountains! After we worked up an appetite on our hike we grabbed lunch at "Billy's" thanks to a great recommendation from a friend! Thanks Sarah! The burgers were awesome...I even polished off my own 1/2 lb patty!

We shopped around in town and I couldn't resist this classic tourist pic in Jackson Square! Our last night there we ate at "The Q Roadhouse" which was also amazing! (Do you see a theme here?? We like to eat!)

We ate out without having to worry about little mouths and wiggly bodies, stayed up late because we could sleep in and not have to wake up with little ones, had adult conversations, sat through a full night of entertainment without having to take potty breaks, strengthened our relationships with our "brothers and sisters," and rejuvenated our marriage! All of this was made possible by these two amazing, and ridiculously generous people! Thanks so much Mom and Dad A for taking us all on this wonderful trip (on YOUR 40th wedding anniversary....back to your same honeymoon spot)! We made lots of fun memories and loved every second! There's so much to do there....I'm dying to go back! Also, this trip would not have been possible without Momma Max being ever so kind and taking both of our kids for several days so we could get away (she truly was flying solo as it was opening weekend of the bow hunt....so pretty much the boys were all out on the mountain)! We love you momma!

**my bro in law got some fun video of our rafting adventure....hopefully i'll get a few clips on here soon**
