E's 6 month well check

Emri had her 6 month well check today!
She weighed 18 lbs (83%) and was 25 inches (27%).....uh? She was so wiggly when the nurse was measuring! I don't know how accurate it was, but we've got short genes on both sides, so that very well could be right! ha ha!
She loves the mirrors in the exam room! Such a big sitter!
We got the ok for foods....so we're going to try some flavor with the cereal and hopefully she'll start to like it more!
We're all done with shots now for at least a few more check ups! Emri did great....she only cried till I picked her up. Then she was all smiles with the front desk girls as they drooled over her cute headband!

She's so mobile now with her rolling....and in the last week has mastered front to back! She is usually in one continous motion. Here's a little video from a week or so ago! ENJOY! Don't mind that she is pant-less!

1/2 Way To Graduation Party

AH! Our (4 year old) computer crashed for like the 3rd time (and totally died this time) so I've neglected anything that has to do with technology for the last week. SO-OO FRUSTRATING! We are now up and running again thanks to the newest member of our family...we'll call him "MAC" (and Brett's in love with his new baby...I think he somehow made the computer "crash" so we could upgrade)!

Anyway, here's really the only thing that I've taken pictures of/done other than the usual.....

The dental school put on a great BBQ/party for making it "1/2 way to graduation!" Way to go guys!!
Emri got in a lot of time with her girlfriends!
There was a GIRL baby boom last winter from Brett's dental class! I realize these next few pictures are all very similar, but the babies crack me up to see each of them in their own little world. The babies of dental daddies: Abigail, Tatum, Reese, Emri, Averi, & Ally.
They were all so curious about eachothers headbands, shoes, binkies, hands....

Once one baby fell over....and a pacifier was stolen... it started a domino effect of tipping over, crying babies and about 5 moms acting like the paparazzi with tears running down our faces because we were laughing so hard!
Lexi, James, Brett & Emri
Emri trying to do her spit face, while keeping the plug in!
Sherri and I enjoyed some cotton candy....
while Emri TRIED to enjoy some diet Dr.Pepper!
Our little family!
EMRI'S 6 MONTHS!! So crazy how fast the time flies....I know I keep saying that, but I can't believe it! She's getting so big!
It seems like just the past few weeks she has learned to do so much!
  • She sleeps around 11 hours at night.
  • Takes a morning nap, and usually 2 in the afternoon.
  • Still doesn't love her cereal, but is making some progress.
  • Her laugh still consists of a delayed squeak or squeal!
  • She rolls from back to front really well....is still getting the hang of front to back
  • Sits up like a champ!
  • Loves to be in the water at Zoombezi Bay
  • Loves textures...especially smooth surfaces. She rubs the palm of her hand really fast on the wall while on her changing table and her crib bumpers. She also loves to scratch her fingernails on fabric.
  • Loves to hear herself talk and squeak!
  • Drank from a sippy cup for the first time....although I'm not sure how much actually made it into her mouth!
  • Has the biggest smiles for daddy when he comes home! She sure loves him!
We go in for her 6 month well check this week so I'll post stats later! Love you E babe!

Pics from the week....and "food fights"

Uncle Bridger was in town for one night on business. It was kind of sad because Emri didn't recognize him. She looked at me with the biggest pouty lip ever, then started to cry when he first said hi to her...after a while she warmed up to him.
Momma Max sent out a couple new rubber duckies for bath time. She LOVES to suck on them when they're wet and I have to watch her close because she can fit the whole head in her mouth on a few of them!
Always happy after bath time....and a lotion rub down!

Eating solid foods, however, does not make this girl smile! It's quite a fight to get anything down her up to this point. Her pediatrician wanted us to start her on cereal at 4 months to try to help with her reflux. She hated it and her new med seemed to do the trick, so I hadn't been very diligent in feeding her cereal since she seems to be full enough after her regular feedings.
A couple weeks ago we gave it another try just to see and still no luck! Last week we decided to add some flavor to see if that helped....I know there's lots of opinions out there about whether to start veggies or fruits first. We tried sweet potatoes...probably the reason for the mess below...and still not much success!
Actually, this was Brett's doing! He decided the only way she'd let him get close to her mouth with the spoon was if she did it herself (ahhhh....already independent)! So, he got out 2 spoons and gave her one after the other. Um, she definitely needed a bath after this. I'm not sure any of the sweet potatoes really made it into her tummy...how about: face, hands, ears, hair, jammies and chair....yes, got that covered. LITERALLY!
My chunky little sunflower! I LOVE all her "elastic lines" on her arms!
Emri has really started to sit up well on her own. It's so fun to watch her learn. We're still working on rolling over...it takes a lot of coaxing on mom and dad's part to get her to heave that big booty over!
The smile that makes my day! She likes to sit in her chair (except for when she drops her toy on the ground and can't reach it)!
Hopefully these videos will work... just don't mind my annoying baby talk in all of them! :)

Big girl sitting up!
The food fight at our house
Brett teaching E how to feed herself?! I'm not sure this is going to go over well with me....the cleaner of messes!
she's trying to fight back the gag reflex at 34 seconds....watch her dry heave! so funny!!

Emri's Dirty Deed....and the Gallery Hop

On Friday after work we had only been home 10 minutes...I'd put Emri in the exersaucer while I unpacked her things from the sitter. Let's just say the pressure on a baby's bottom in that thing when they have to "go" does not make for an easy cleanup! Emri smiling while I try to figure out how to clean this up on my own!
Yes, quite the little.....or should I say huge present to me!
She loves her bathtime, which makes me wonder if she did this midday on purpose to get a bath! And her toes are much more accessible without a big diaper on!
Oh yes! All 5 toes are a must!
And now, all clean and cozy with bear in one arm and blanky in the other....time for the afternoon nap!

Saturday we went to dinner with some friends where Emri couldn't keep her eyes off daddy's diet coke! She was determined to get her sticky little fingers on it, and the expression on her face is one of defeat!
After dinner we went to the Short North in downtown Columbus to the Gallery Hop (much to Brett's dismay)! All the little shops display artwork and there's lots going on in the streets...singing, dancing, (people watching on our part). We basically just wandered around and counted how many gay couples we saw. The only pictures I have to document our night are:
the melted icecream drips I spilled on myself
a really dark picture of an already dark person break dancing
and faceshot of me and brett. The End.
