Emri 4 year old interview

Here is Emri girl's 4 year old interview...with no help, this is what came out of her mouth. Enjoy!

1. What is your favorite color? Purple

2. What is your favorite toy? Buzz (Lightyear)

3. What is your favorite fruit? Strawberries and bananas 

4. What is your favorite tv show? Pearlie

5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? Bananas

6. What is your favorite outfit? My swimming clothes (I think she's really wanting Summer to come)!

7. What is your favorite game? Tic-tac-toe

8. What is your favorite snack? fruit snacks

9. What is your favorite animal? A chicken, because it's funny and says bock-bock!

10. What is your favorite song? Twinkle twinkle

11. What is your favorite book? "There is a Bird on Your Head," by Mo Willems

12. Who is your best friend? Kenya (her cousin)

13. What is your favorite cereal? Life

14. What is your favorite thing to do outside? Ride bikes

15. What is your favorite drink? Chocolate milk

16. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas

17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? "My sleepy bear...the one that's dirty. And I love my princess blanky."

18. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? I like "egg and bread" (aka toad in the hole, egg in the middle).

19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday? Pizza

20. What do you want to be when you grow up? A dentist...to clean people's teeth! Haha... A combo of mom and dad I guess :)

Birthday Celebrations PART 1...

Jet's birthday was on Sunday. This year (again) we are combining efforts for the kid's celebrations. I think we will keep doing that as long as we can get away with it! Jet opened his presents after church, then we had Grandmas and Grandpas over for dinner and dessert.

Grandparents brought both kids presents, which made Emri happy :)

Jet's obsessed with "Cars"...not necessarily the movie itself, but just Lightening MacQueen anything! So, this was as creative as it got this year. 

 He wasn't quite sure what to do about the candles.

 I feel a little guilty...Emri's cake was not homemade :/ She wanted Tinkerbell and it was too tempting to buy this one instead of make 2! She didn't care tho...

 Gma Anderton made the kids this awesome teepee...

 ....and gave them these nap mats and lanterns to go with. Emri has been begging to sleep in it since and they've been playing so great in it! 

I'd say so far, it's been a great start to birthday week! Emri got to take birthday treats to preschool and celebrate this morning, and tomorrow is the big day! #4!! More celebrating to come!!!

Jet @ 2 Years

Weight: 25 lbs (14%)

Height: 32.5 inches (8%)

Head Circumference: 19.5 inches (72%)

Still small. The doctor said he's not too worried about it since his height/weight are similar percentile. Guess he'll just be a little guy!

He wasn't too happy about sister getting in on the pictures. 

dr appointment...

At 2 years, Jet:

• WILL NOT keep his clothes on!! Dressing him is the last thing I should do before we go anywhere! As soon as he's dressed and I turn my back...his pants, socks and shoes come off! 
• Not only will he not keep his clothes on, but he wants to change his clothes several times a day! Emri was never like this, so it's all new to me! He's a silly boy.
• Seems to be eating a little better... One night Brett and I were so fed up with him NEVER touching dinner that we decided to put him in time out if he didn't take a bite. He refused the bite, so into his crib he went for time-out. When he was ready to take a bite we brought him back out. He took one bite, then refused another. So he went back to time out. We did this about 6 or 7 times. He was crying most of the time, BUT since that night and a couple other occasional incidents he is eating much better. We just threaten time out, and enforce it as needed!! haha!
• Got his 14th tooth! 02-10-13... #C! 
• has not been a great sleeper the past 3 or so weeks. He's been waking up around 6:15am...UNCOOL!! And his naps are shorter than normal too. PRAYING it's just a phase! 
• His favorite foods are go-gurt, lunch meat, bananas, pears, and always PIZZA!
• Jet has to sleep with his brown teddy bear and his little blue/brown blanky.
• he loves to have his hands and hair tickled before bed. He's usually pretty snuggly when he's sleepy, but points to his crib when he's ready to be put to bed.
• He's a very determined boy, always has been! He's silly, crazy, lovable, energetic, loud...all boy (except the clothes changing thing)!! He tests our/my patience daily!
• Is obsessed with the color "geen" (green) and anything that resembles the letter "ooo" (O), including circles and zeros. Funny boy!
• has a love/tease relationship with Emri. I can't say hate...because I know he really loves her. He loves to push her buttons at times. For the most part they play pretty well together. I just can't believe my BABY is two!! 

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JETTY BOY!!

For the LOVE...

I LOVE Valentine's Day... mostly for the sugar cookies! ha! I'm a bit OCD when it comes to making messes, but look at that happy face, playing with his "play dough!" Tuesday we make the cookies...

 They were great helpers....but don't worry, they had their own separate dough....

 Wednesday we frosted the cookies...

 ...and invited our cousins Tabitha and Loralye to help.

 I think I need an intervention. I may have lost track of the number of these I downed! We delivered to friends and neighbors...

 Valentine's Eve the kids got new jammies....this isn't necessarily a tradition, but they are always needing new jammies, so why not?!

 V-Day breakfast was heart shaped pancakes and strawberries (like every other family in America).

 Emri had preschool, and while Mommy was showering, Jet passed out watching a movie. THIS NEVER HAPPENS (one, that he'll watch a show longer than 5 minutes and two, that he'll fall asleep on his own free will). The boy has been waking up around 6:30 every morning for the last couple weeks...apparently it caught up to him. 

 Our Heart Throb & Little Love Bug...pretty cute if I do say so myself ;)

 This beautiful arrangement was delivered just as I was trying to head out the door to meet Brett. The card read, "To my two very special girls. I love you both more than you know, because you are both more than I deserve. Love you Emri, and I guess you too Jami.  -Me" So sweet...and of course a little sarcasm too. Emri was so happy to get beautiful flowers on Valentine's!

 I snagged a couple pieces of pizza from the kids dinner, left them with a sitter, and met Brett on his way home from work. We had a very romantic pizza dinner in the car as we drove to Brigham City to make it for  a 6:30 appointment! haha! Memorable at least :) We met up with Brett's parent's and a few of his siblings to do sealings. It was really neat...and a great place to be with the hubs on our day of love! 

Hope everyone enjoyed their day too....NOW...onto birthday planning/celebrations! We've got quite the week ahead of us!

iPhone/Instagram Dump

My blog is seriously lacking in excitement these days...and it's due to a number of reasons which I will tell you!

1. We just don't have a ton going on right now... winter needs to be over. Don't worry though, with Valentine's Day, 2 kiddos birthdays to celebrate, and a 1/2 Marathon all in the next 2 weeks I'm sure my blog will be a little more exciting in the near future.

2. Our computer is in the very basement of our multi-level home...which is poorly insulated. IT IS FREAKING COLD DOWN HERE!! I never have the desire to sit in front of the computer for more than 30 seconds!

3. We haven't been up to a lot, but when WE DO do stuff, I've been a slacker at taking pics! 

It's been a while since I've dumped all my random pics into a post, so here they are... dating back to November--ish??

Stopped at work to see Daddy....I always put them in the chair. My kids WILL NOT be afraid of the dental office!

 Brett was out of town one weekend in December on a boy/family outing...Emri brought "Hooey" into my room and said I could sleep w/ him so I wouldn't get lonely without Daddy. She's tender!

 Got to have lunch, sans kiddos, with my sweet friend Amy while she was in town for Christmas. Miss my Ohio girls!

 Emri and I both caught the stomach flu last month....This was my view for about 24 hours.

A few days after the bug hit....just chillin in mom's bed. No moving allowed!

"Look Mom, I'm a bookworm." She melts my heart!

 It's been so dang cold...and we had a nasty inversion that seemed to last forever...I'm pretty sure at least 2 weeks. You could walk outside and taste the air! GROSS! Finally we got a big storm (I welcomed that one) and the smog cleared out. Beautiful blue skies...so rejuvenating.

 Once it "warmed up" (maybe 30 degrees??) Brody and I drove up to Morgan to do a long run. We ran 10 miles...our 1/2 Marathon is in 1.5 weeks!

 A few weeks ago, Emri had been asking Brett to teach her how to play the Wii....we never turn it on anymore. I could barely watch her play MarioKart the first few times without getting motion-sickness! Now she begs to play every night with Daddy after dinner, and she's getting quite good at it! I pretend I don't know how to turn it on (only Daddy can) so I don't get begged to play it all day!

 Emri got CandyLand for Christmas and she literally beats us 9 times out of 10 when we play! Sometimes Daddy pouts...

 I went to Time Out For Women with my in-law ladies and my mom in Layton...Sadly, this was THE ONLY pic I took! And it has ZERO women in it....just a million freaky birds that I thought were going to attack us when we got out of our car.

 And this is just today :) Emri is signing her own Valentines for her preschool party! I can't believe she is this old! So sweet and fun though!
