Memorial Weekend

A long weekend surrounded by family was a perfect "break" from day to day life. Not only did I get to have my hubs home for a long weekend, but I got to spend an overnighter with my amazing "sisters" and "mom" Friday night. Mindy was in town for a week so it was the perfect opportunity to celebrate her upcoming baby girl and catch up! We had dinner at The Brick Oven...
...then went back to our hotel rooms and surprised this cute momma with fun presents, had treats, did a little service project for the Christmas Box House, and had girl talk till waaaay too early in the morning!
Saturday night Brett and I enjoyed a night out with Kels and her date to the Salt Lake REAL soccer game! Brett refused a pic, so here's my other date :) So fun!
Sunday we had a cookout with the extended Anderton crew and made a visit to the cemetery.
Grandpa's headstone is finally in place and it's so, so beautiful! The kids with Great Gma Sugar. I need a pic of the back of the headstone....it has Gma/Gpa's missionary tags engraved in it, also a bomber plane signifying Gpa's service as a pilot in WWII. Jet thought that was really cool and keeps talking about it when we drive past the cemetery that's near our home.
We were able to plant our "mini" garden on Memorial Day. We decided only on a few pots this year, since our garden spot was kind of a bust last year (due to all those trees behind the kids not allowing enough sunlight on the plants). We did some basil, and a few different kinds of tomatoes. Hopefully something grows!
Memorial afternoon we headed to SLC and spent time w/ the Brklacich's. Jet has really warmed up to his Great Gma's and Gpa's over time and I love seeing them together!
Tuesday I got to work with my main squeeze...so it was even more extended weekend. Kinda like getting paid to go on an 8 hour date with my crush...kind of :)
I feel like summer is already flying by...here we are and it's already the middle of JUNE! What the?! We've got lots of crazy stuff already happening and upcoming, so stay tuned (all of you two readers who still even check in on this site)!
