In the 3rd year of dental school, each student is assigned one of the between-quarter breaks to report to clinic. Brett had his assignment this past week, so he didn't get much of a "break." Brett's parents got to come out so it was a real treat for us even though Brett had to be in the Emergency Clinic!
The weather was PERFECT the whole time they were here! Thursday we played at the park.... Emri took her first (and 100th) turn on the slide and loved every second!

She played on the swings with Grandma...

Grandpa blew her bubbles and also added a cute accessory to her stroller (a pinwheel) that now fascinates her during our walks...

The geese have been abundant in the pond behind our house, so we took them some bread. Emri had only seen them from a distance so far this year. When grandpa got right down on their level with E she started to cry! I think she thought he was going to feed her to the geese! It took her a while to forgive him!

Friday afternoon we went to the zoo. Brett finished clinic early and met up with us there (hence the attire)!

The bears were VERY active that day!! They wrestled around in the water then would stand up and paw at eachother. It was fun to watch them play....although, I don't know if I'd be "playing" if my friend had claws like that!

I think Emri is the most entertained by the aquarium each time we go to the zoo. I have to admit, it is pretty relaxing to sit back and watch all the tropical fish swim around....too bad it's not that relaxing at home to watch Herman the goldfish in Emri's room swim in circles in his little bowl (yep, still alive after 2 1/2 weeks)!

Emri petted some goats at the petting zoo...which I am not completely a fan of. Bring on the hand sanitizer!!! bleh.

Saturday we drove to Dayton and wandered around the National Museum of the US AirForce. The place is huge and you could easily spend a couple days or more learning and seeing all sorts of interesting stuff. We watched a movie on the IMAX screen about the Hubble Telescope which was quite amazing. It made me feel very insignificant when you think about outerspace and all the different solar systems, galaxies, stars, etc there are.
We also spent a lot of time in the hangar that had WWII planes and history. Pardon the name on the plane....but we wanted a pic in front of the B24 Bomber...Brett's Grandpa Anderton flew one of these planes in the war.

This thing was huge! I stood clear back and still couldn't get much of it in the picture.

On the way home Emri was trying sooo hard to figure out Grandma's water bottle! She was even willing to lose an eye just for a sip! ha ha!

Finally, she gave up (and so did Gma)!

Brett got a surprise early birthday celebration from his parents! I'm pretty sure he thinks he gets a month-long birthday now!

Somehow Emri ended up with gifts too....
She LOVE. LOVE. LOVES. her "bebe" and stroller/walker! It's so fun to see her get so excited about little things now!

All gussied up for church on Sunday....Emri is such a ham these days!

And, she definitely didn't lack in the kisses or snuggles while Gpa and Gma were here!

Thanks so much for coming to see, spoil, visit, spoil, treat, spoil, love, spoil, and play with us! I really think that is the best thing about living far away....when family or friends come, we get them all to ourselves the whole time they're here and we don't have to share their attention with anyone else! ;) We love and miss you already!
