St. George Souvenir

Grandma told Emri she could pick a souvenir in St. George....this pink stick horse complete with galloping and neighing noises was the winner. It was in this fancy shop at the outlets, the only kid friendly item in the whole place!
We had to hurry and get out of there before we owned other "souvenirs" that fell fatal to the stick. Seriously. I think she almost broke the glass counter as she did the about-face on her way to the door!

Chass-Pick

New Year's Day driving home from Morgan....Emri asked for her "Chass-pick" (Chapstick) but barely had enough energy to apply it!

SNOW Firsts

Emri experienced a few firsts with the storm last Saturday....

Snowbunny: truly bundled and ready to play in snow for the first time (Ohio was never more than a skiff to make going out worth it)!
SnowAngel: she loved seeing mom go first, then dad dumped her in and we watched her wings flap!
SNOWMAN: she gave him an original name...Frosty! He's pretty pathetic...dirt clods from the planting area for eyes and to trace a smile and a baby carrot nose (but Emri thought it was the greatest thing ever). Apparently I need to go grocery shopping!
The next morning we were leaving for church and his carrot nose was gone....Emri got really sad and said "Fwosty's nose blewed away!"

Sunny St. George

The parentals have a condo timeshare in St.George....honestly, the last time I remember staying there I was probably in middle school?? It's always the last week-first week of the year, so it was tricky with kids in school and trying to work around the holiday break I guess. So, I came up with a great idea that my kids and I needed to use the condo while Brett worked a long week (picked up a couple more days in another office, yay)! Thankfully Momma Max agreed to us telling her she needed to come stay in HER condo with us! haha!

We had a wonderful time....the weather was about 62 degrees and sunny the whole time we were there! It definitely helped with these winter/post Christmas blues that sneak up on me. Here's what we did:

DIXIE ROCK: Hiking/Exploring, thanks to my awesome SIL Mindy and her kids who are now resisdents of St. George. Ruby and Liam know this place like the back of their hand and showed Emri the best spots!
Momma Max and E takin a rest.Seriously, Utah has THE MOST diverse landscapes. I LOVE. LOVE. the red rocks of southern Utah!Ruby, Mindy, Charlie, Liam, & Emri on top of Dixie Rock overlooking St. George. Can you spot the temple?!Jet chilled in the backpack....he barley made a squeak the whole time!Mindy & Me with our babes....love that girl!Emri and Liam were such cute buddies. Emri had some confusion when we first moved back as to which was "her group" of cousins to play with....she just wanted them all and was not prejudice to her age group. She's now finding her spot :)We stopped at Mindy's to see her new pad and have lunch. That night we hit up "KRAVE" yogurt....the new self serve craze. Delish!Momma Max, me, Marty & MindyWe got in lots of R&R at the condo....

One day we wandered around the outlets, then the temple grounds. Emri headed straight for the big steps...This tree was just too cool not to take a picture of.Oh my, those blue skies in early January are sure refreshing. And the gorgeous white temple. PERFECT! The little munchkin in the corner is pretty great too.The best we could do with Emri's cooperation skills during nap time :)One day we went to Jumpin Jacks Bouncehouse....It started out not so great when Emri had a pee accident in her pants while I was paying to get in. AWESOME. Being the super prepared mom I am (not) I had zero changes of clothes for the kid!Being the super prepared mom my friend Heather IS, she ran into the bathroom gave me a hug (we haven't seen eachother for probably 5 years) and ran to her car to get me a pair of her daughter's spare pants! SHE SAVED THE DAY!!!!! Heather also lives in St. George and it was soooo fun to see/meet her kids and catch up! Heather, Me, & Mindy. The kids bounced every ounce of energy out! Jet, E, Liam, Charlie. That night we went to Tiki Broiler (formerly known as Parrothead Island Broiler) because I'd been craving a salad from there since the our last visit in 2007! It did not disappoint.

We had a great trip! I'm thinking to make it a tradition....what'dya think Mom?! It's okay if i mooch, right?! The day after we got home....it SNOWED! Like, our first big--real snow of the season. Kinda a slap in the face after 60 degrees all week!

Goodbye 2011

New Years Eve-Day we went to Morgan for a scrumptious breakfast, then went to the church to get out some energy. Here's all the grandkiddos...minus 2.
New Years Eve we spent at Ryan and Jaimi's in Logan. They are super fabulous hosts and we had a fun time....Emri was in heaven with dress-ups galore and an older girl cousin who loved spending time dressing her up! Emri, Kenya & Sawyer.

The kids got in a few rounds of Chipmunk Dance Party...Emri was very focused on her moves!
...then the adults took our turn shakin our groove thang. So funny to watch others! The kids rang in the new year around 9pm....but it was midnight according to the clock on the microwave :) We made lots of noise out on the deck, then put kids to bed. We played games till midnight...then I crashed. Brett, Ryan & Jaimi were troopers and got a movie in after midnight! Can't believe it's 2012....
