Piggy Banks

These pics came off my phone, so the quality kinda stinks....

We recently opened the kids savings accounts at America First. We went once and totally forgot the kids SS #'s (we struggle) so we had to go back another time. Emri was almost in tears when we left because she knew she was going to get a piggy bank. But because mom is a space cadet, she left without one.

We made it back there and she was thrilled! If your kids don't have an account yet, I will totally put in a plug for them :) For opening an account the kids get these darling piggy banks. They also bring home a little "savings passport" and each time they go deposit their money at the bank they get a stamp in their passport and when a page is full they get a prize. Talk about making saving money fun!
Emri made sure to take her piggy with her to Grandma Max's last week to collect Papa's pocket change that he always leaves on the counter (she always notices it). This time she even told Papa she likes the "green ones!" haha! Such a smart girl :) Jet thinks it's pretty cool to hear the change rattle inside!

Friday Family Fun Night

We went to Boondocks with the Palmers to add a little excitement to the boring winter routine....the carousel was all Emri and Tabitha wanted to ride. I sat on it once with E and wanted to vomit from nausea after!
We selfishly talked them into a few "adult friendly" arcades too :) This pic makes me feel like Tom Cruise on Top Gun...leather jacket, bullet bike, (not to mention my amazing topless volleyball skills). Oh wait....
This ride was a rollercoaster-like simulation. Their faces got pretty intense at times!

We played a few "ticket earning" games. They are still a total rip-off to redeem tickets for prizes. Emri got some tootsie rolls and a couple little plastic dinosaurs....all for the amazing price of $12! Oh well, it was a nice break from the norm...and Emri keeps asking when we're going back to "that special place?"

Round 2

Icy Front Steps: 1
Jami: 0

Same elbow as Round 1. It was JUST starting to feel back to normal too.

Maybe my equilibrium is off?
That's what I'm going to start telling people.

Jet @ 11 Months

I had to take these, even though they make me sad. I feel like these pictures pretty much describe last month...or two!

Brushin those 2 tooth nubs!
Loved his first taste of Easy Mac!

At 11 Months Jet:
  • has MAJOR stranger anxiety....he likes Mom, Dad, Emri, Grandma Max & Sharon and that's about it!
  • went round 2 of antibiotics for ear infections.
  • got his 2nd tooth (#O)
  • hasn't been eating great....earaches? new teeth? Sure wish he could tell us what's wrong :( I feel so helpless.
  • has finally figured out how to really crawl and not just the one-arm army crawl/scoot
  • says "uh-uh" for monkey and dog, and "gah" for duck/quack
  • loves to hold phones, remotes, bananas up to his ear and goes "eh!" like he's talking on the phone!
  • claps whenever we say "yay" or "good job!"
  • is VERY VOCAL! If he needs our attention or wants something he yells. Seriously. Not a cry, but a full on yell/scream until we acknowledge him!
  • he loves to tease Emri by laying on her favorite princess blanket. It drives her crazy most times and he gets the biggest kick out of it! She relocates and he follows her!
  • will turn 1 in a month???? Really???
  • The last week he's seemed uninterested in his baby food which seems a little weird and early....but he's been loving: graham crackers, bananas, bread, and easymac.
  • is still as cute as can be and anyone who sees him comments on his beautiful blue eyes!
  • After his 2nd round of antibiotics he still seemed not his happy self, so i took him back to the dr to have his ears checked AGAIN ....Jet started crying as soon as we walked into the waiting room...he knew where we were! He's not a fan of strangers at this point anyway, so to have the dr scooping wax out of his ear just to be able to see anything as I hold him down REALLY ticked him off. The dr said his ears looked fine (i'm sure he thinks i'm crazy by now)....so I guess all of a sudden Jet just is an ornery kid??? Seems weird. I might go have him looked at again (maybe somewhere else)...I just can't explain his crappy naps, waking up screaming around 11pm, decreased appetite....it's so hard to tell when teeth are coming in too :( Hopefully his happy disposition isn't gone for good!
Speaking of crappy....Emri had a #2 accident at the office today while i was getting my teeth cleaned. Super. I thought we were past that (luckily I know the staff well :) so it wasn't a huge embarrassment)! Potty training might....just MIGHT push me over the edge. I know she knows when she needs to go. Any tips on getting her to TELL me/us when she needs to go?!

IF you actually read to here, thank you. And I'm sorry, for all the blah blah blah. Seems like a good place to get it all out!

The Newest Member....

...of the NO CAVITIES CLUB!!!

Emri had her first dental cleaning and check up! She did great sitting in the chair and wasn't really nervous at all....thank goodness! Luckily this guy got to be her dentist :) She tells me all the time that "Daddy is a dentist. He's at work fixing people's 'teese!' "
Daddy, Manya (hygienist), Emri, and even Grandpa popped into the op to say hi to one of his favorite patients!
She loves brushing her teeth and asks about 5 times a day if she can brush....it's a good thing, cuz all those potty treats would probably have rotted her teeth out by now!
