How Our Summer Ended...

The day we came home from Bear Lake we had the Randall Reunion. A few cousins I hadn't seen in years! It's actually a reunion with my Mom's side and all her cousins, but growing up we always went to Burley. ID once a year for this reunion and I always looked forward to seeing my 2nd cousins! Now they have children taller than me!
Summer pretty much came to a halt after that (as far as water activities goes anyway). Emri got hurt at Bear Lake on the KOA "bounce pillow." It seemed to gradually be getting better, but she was still limping, so we took her to the dr. to find out that it wasn't just a hyperextended knee, but a tibial fracture as well. Poor girl! I felt awful we waited to take her in (6 days)! She picked purple and it's super cute on her! Actually the day of her doctors appt (just a few hours before) grandma Sharon took E and Tabitha school shopping for Kindergarten, to lunch and a movie (don't worry, I at least sent the umbrella stroller so she didn't have to walk through the mall on her sore leg).

A little shopping date for Emri and Momma before school. We got a couple skirts to get her by for the next 6 weeks in a cast. Only one pair of her jean shorts is stretchy enough to fit over the cast. Jeans are completely out of the question. Good thing it's still warm outside!
We squeezed in a playdate in Logan with our friends (my hygiene school friends and their kids) before the kids started school. How many small children can fit in this little truck?
Parker and Max were happy to cart E around!
The Ogden LDS Temple open house is going on right now. The old temple was completely remodeled inside and out and the new one is GORGEOUS! Momma Max came up and went through the temple with us. It was neat to let the kids go through and see what a temple looks like inside, before it's dedicated. I'm so thankful that because of these beautiful buildings and the ordinances that take place inside them, that I can be with my family for eternity...not just for life on this earth.

Summer activities also came to a halt and turned into packing and moving for us! We did a little pre-move-in painting in Ike's room. I didn't really think pink was fitting for the little guy. :)
Good news: we had all the Anderton boys and son-in-laws to help. Bad news: we picked the rainiest day of the season to move it all. SHEESH! Luckily the boys only had to move the heavy furniture items; earlier in the week, Brett, my mom, and I had moved most of the smaller stuff in small loads as we packed them. It's nice to only move about a mile away!
The kitchen was still in boxes so we had a picnic in our new backyard with pizza my dear friend dropped off for us. I had told Brett when we were looking to buy (way back in the spring time) that I really just wanted to be settled before school started for the kids.
Well.....we moved in and TWO days later this little peanut started KINDERGARTEN!!! (That's not really what I meant by settled before school starts, but whatever! We were digging through boxes to make sure we were prepared for the big day)! Oh this girl was so excited to start school!! She has class with a couple of friends she already knew from soccer and preschool since we stayed in the same area.

First day breakfast!
E and her teacher Mrs. Lechman on the first day!
 Lining up!
As Emri got settled in to her new routine, we've been trying to get settled into our new home. The kids are REALLY enjoying the playground in the yard. Ikey LOVES the swing...
Jet likes to be tricky
Emri is usually banned from the sand and told to swing only (kinda takes the excitement right out of all the new toys)

This is a random pic, but you see, Emri loves to play outside and run around with her cast, but hates to walk through the grocery store (or even stand on the end of the cart). This was her other option. ha!  And look how healthy we are (NOT). Apparently I've been needing some snack food at the new place!
ANOTHER HUGE THING HAPPENED RECENTLY. THIS TINY GUY STARTED PRESCHOOL!!!! Another blessing that we stayed in the area is that Jet is excited to go to preschool because he get's to go to his "favorite teacher" Miss Jackie's (same place Emri went). On the first day of school Emri went running and never looked back, not even for a hug or kiss. This boy is not like that. He still gets a little nervous about nursery at church and he's been going since 18 months. I don't think he would have walked through anyone else's preschool doors. So glad he's already familiar with Miss Jackie! And I could die over the cute little chicken scratch handwriting his name is written in!
He's pretty stoked about his  "MINJA TURTLE" backpack and I love that it's almost bigger than he is!
First day breakfast!!!
There were NO TEARS on the first day!! Here he is with his friend Brooke, from church. Yay, more familiar faces! Although he didn't cry, at least he didn't leave me in the dust like Emri did. He paused for a long squeeze and a sweet kiss for his momma!
Then off he went!! And now... I have 4 whole hours a week with me and the Ike-ster (and if i'm lucky he's napping for most of that time...hence my ability to catch back up on the blog. YAY!) When I picked him up and told him how much I missed him, I asked, "Jet, did you miss me...or have fun?" To which he replied, "Both Momma. I missed you AND had fun!" Oh that makes a mommy's heart happy! What a sweet little stinker!
Thanks Summer, you were pretty dang good to us....as always! Don't be gone too long.

Ike @ 11 Months

These chair pictures sum Ike up perfectly! Happy, silly, smiley, and won't sit still for a second!

I will miss the gummy smile, but those two little tooth nubbins are so adorable!

Ike wasn't too sure about mom's idea to trim his hair!
How we eat out these days.... daddy's phone helps with entertainment for the little dude.
 Time to lower the mattress!
Swim date with cousins. Kasen (Kylie's baby) and Ike
 Little laundry helper!
Not sure what was so sad, but tears don't roll down those cheeks very ofter, so I had to document it.
At the Bluffdale rodeo with Gma Max
 In. To. Every. Thing.
Ike loved his first experience in the sand! Bear Lake.

 Morning camping snuggles with grandma!
 This face. Melts my heart!

At 11 Months, Ike:

  • Army crawls to get wherever he wants to go. Will get up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth; it usually ends in a forward lunge to the face!
  • Pulls up to stand in crib (07.16.14) so we had to lower the mattress!
  • Now has a hard time going to sleep because he wants to sit up and play or stand and can't quite get back down.
  • Did start crawling! 07.18.14
  • likes to wave "hi" to everyone! He waves with his whole arm.
  • FINALLY sprouted some teeth just a couple days before turning 11 months (#P: 08.05.14)  (#O: 08.10.14)
  • Is in the "pick-up-every-tiniest-thing-and-put-it-in-your-mouth" phase. At least the house gets vacuumed daily!
  • Naps 2x/day. Usually 2-3 hours each. Loving this because I know it won't last long!
  • Loves to pull out his best grins when the camera is out!
  • Pulls up to most furniture, still a bit unstable once standing, and doesn't cruise around it yet.
