Merry Christmas!

***CHRISTMAS EVE***
We spent part of the afternoon bowling with friends in Layton. Bowling on Christmas Eve has become a tradition for us in the past few years. Previously we have been going in Morgan and we basically have the alley to ourselves. I didn't realize that this is actually a common tradition...as we had to wait for a lane to open at the alley we went to. Next year...back to small town Morgan! Our friends the Copier's came.

Alli and I actually went to the same high school but never knew eachother till a few years ago when we moved into the neighborhood. Love this girl!
We got Cafe Rio takeout and spent the rest of the evening at home, just our little fam.
The kids opened their Christmas jammies (tradition) and gave gifts to each other that they had picked out.
I also ordered up my first instagram chatbooks series and let the kids open them that night. It was fun to look back through a bunch of pictures from the last few years.
Babies in jammies....one of my favorite things!
The kids left cookies out for Santa, and a carrot for Rudolph. They also sprinkled some reindeer food out on the lawn.

***CHRISTMAS DAY***
Christmas morning was pretty magical...
...we even woke up to our first good snow of the year! A white Christmas!!!
Santa brought Ike a cozy coupe... he was pretty content with it!
Electric toothbrushes in stockings were a hit!
Santa delivered the "Fur-real Pet puppy" that Emri wished for.
And Jet got some "revengers"...
...and a minion fart gun (was this on every little boy's wish list this year?!) Hilarious!
These 2 minions.... :)
I think the most coveted gift was the Saranoni blanket that Brett gifted to me! It is seriously the softest thing to have ever touched my skin. Such a fun surprise--I've been eyeing them at Swiss Days for years! If it ever goes missing I think I'll look in Jetty's bed first!
Emri has really gotten into Perler Beads lately.
Everyone helping Ike figure out how to unwrap!
Brett got an Ohio State scoreboard desk clock for the new office...
In the afternoon we went to my parents house. We were so busy having fun that I didn't take very many pics :( Jet and a new book of bedtime stories from cousins, Ayden and Keeley. Aden, Kolby, Brody, Grandma Max and Ike in the background.
Emri and Keeley in their matching jammies from grandma and papa!
It was so nice to have Great Grandma and Grandpa join us. We always love seeing them and are lucky they live nearby!

Since we actually had snow... the day after Christmas we did some sledding on the church hill near my parents. It was the perfect size for the littles. Jet and Papa taking a turn... Jet's face kills me!
 Emri girl cruisin' down...
 I think he likes it!
 Getting brave and going backwards...
 Papa and Emri
Brett and Jet testing out the "jump!" Haha! They actually did get a little bit of air!

December...Leading up to Christmas

December 1st--- Jet came down with a fever, lots of tummy cramps and his "mouth hurting" so we went to the doctor but his strep test was negative. 2 days later and still so sick we went back. He tested positive for influenza. The doctor said he was his first positive flu test of the season. Emri had also come down with a fever in that time but that was her only sypmtom other than being tired. By the end of the week Brett was spiking a fever, body aches/chills, sore throat, cramps. Luckily Ike and I were able to stay healthy. Jet's fever lasted 8 days. So glad when he was finally feeling back to normal, so we could start getting into the festivities for the month!
We got got to visit with Great Grandma Sugar....
I took selfies with my nieces Kenzie and Morgan...
Oh and I guess the festive reason for being there was to decorate gingerbread houses! Grandpa was the project manager for Emri and Jet's house!

This is just random, but I get a little tired of Jet "not being able to eat this much" or his "tummy being full" after 2 bites of a meal. I told him not to get down from the table until his lunch was gone. I guess we are both a bit stubborn! Silly kid decided to just fall asleep.
The past few years we've made it a tradition to take our family downtown Ogden to see the Christmas Village. It's so fun for the kiddos to check out all the decorated houses. This was the WARMEST year I can ever remember in the many years I've been doing this. No snow and coats were almost too warm! We had a great time and were going to get hot chocolate for a treat after but went for ice-cream cones instead!!

Nobody felt like decorating while the sickness was going around... so it was December 12th before we even got our tree up, so we settled for the "small one."
Jet was the special star helper!
I have a set of 3 tiny trees and the kids decorated each differently...I made these cute little TMNT's for Jet's tree.

We had breakfast with Santa at Chick Fila. He's really the best! Emri asked for a "Furr-Real Pet dog," and Jet didn't ask for anything because he busted out the shy card at the last minute. What the? But what he really wanted to ask for was a "fart gun"(that the Minions use on Despicable Me movie), and some Avengers guys.
The cow elf at chick fila
Our cousins came along to breakfast too! Jet, Emri, Tabitha, Loralye
This little monster is in to EVERYTHING lately!
I've been working Tuesdays for the past few months helping a girl out with her maternity leave, and Momma Max has been so great to come up and take care of the kids while Brett and I are at work. The kids have been in heaven and look forward to Tuesdays each week with grandma!
Jet had his preschool Christmas program. Each kid has a line to tell about their favorite thing about Christmas. I thought Jet would say "opening presents" or "licking candy canes
but when his turn came around he held up the picture he drew and said "My favorite thing about Christmas is Jesus." Melted my heart!

Jet and his beloved teacher, Miss Jackie!
Grandma Max treated us to Menchie's fro-yo after. YUM!
We had our annual get together with my high school friends for dinner and a baby shower for Katie and Brandon! And Marsh was purely entertaining as usual!

I was/am blessed with the best of friends!

Ike @ 15 Months

15 Month Check-Up Stats
Weight: 20 lbs 13 oz (20%)
Height: 29 3/4 inches (72%)
Head Circumference: 18 3/4 inches (7%)

Welcoming baby Thea over with a kiss!
 Tantrums.....
 and more tantrums...
trying to use the few teeth that he has!
making messes faster than I can clean them up...
Ike, Noran, Georgia, Hendrix and Daddy. Babies were all born in 2013.
A few of the shots our photographer got of Ike during our family photo shoot... he wasn't the happiest guy but she got a couple smiles.

At 15 Months, Ike:

  • has had a really grumpy month :( He's trying to get his upper central teeth so that's what I blame it on because he's usually such a happy guy. If it lasts much longer he might not be the only one on the floor crying!
  • still loves daddy and grandma Max the most. He will pick either of them over mom if we are all in the same room together (dad still ranks #1)!
  • Naps once a day for 3 hours.
  • cruises up and down the stairs very comfortably now. YAY!
  • loves to unload my cupboards, especially the one with all the kids cups and sippy cups.
  • can go from sitting up to standing alone without the help of furniture.
