The Holiday Season is Upon Us....

We experienced something new as a family this year... "The North Pole Express!" The day after Thanksgiving we made our way to Midway, UT and boarded the train (the Heber Creeper) with our very own golden tickets! The kids were beyond excited!

We went bundled up and took blankets to stay warm.
Everything was so cute, from singing Christmas carols, to having hot cocoa and cookies.

 We met Santa's daughter....

 ...and the big guy himself!!

The kids even got their own jingle bell... and they heard it ring. They must believe!
It was a really fun way to kick off the Christmas season!
That Saturday was the big Ohio State vs Michigan game. I made some homemade Buckeyes and let the kids deliver a plate of them right before kickoff to our neighbor across the street who was born and raised in Michigan (if you look closely, you can see his Michigan flag behind his tree).
The kids get such a kick out of talking crap to him about how awesome our Buckeyes are!
While watching the football game we also got our Christmas tree decorated! Emri was the one to help put the star on this year!

 Ike's "scared" face...
Sporting dad's beanie and Buckeye swag!
Our neighborhood gifts this year. We went the "non-treat" route. Mostly so I wouldn't over-indulge in the baked goods!
The Anderton Office Staff Christmas Party. Ingrid and I did a little decorating, since it was in the unfinished basement of the office.  We had a fun time with the staff... lunch, minute-to-win-it games, and a white elephant exchange.
Gifts for the girls from Ingrid and I (lotions and special apple dip)!
Later that evening Emri had her Christmas dance recital!
E and her sweet friend Halle!

Grandma Max was able to come watch too!
E with her bestie, Luke. He performs in the hip-hop class.

November Happenings....

Well, this is it! They're really off to Portugal this time. Back in May when they were supposed to depart on their mission, a series of strange events (and many tender mercies) led to open heart surgery for my father-in-law and they were told it would be a year until they were able to leave the country. Thanks to skilled surgeons, lots of fasting and prayers, and a determined mind his recovery was ahead of schedule and they were able to get the OK to leave only 5 months after surgery! We have mixed emotions... we love being able to spend time with them and see them all the time but man are those people of Portugal lucky to have them for the next year of their service! We had a dinner at Tiff/Jim's the evening before they left and said some "see ya laters." We don't do goodbyes!

Pics we received from the airport... and they're off!!!

Love them so much!!
Ike stretching with me after my workout! He's too cute!
Where I found Jet one afternoon when it got quiet... under his bed.
Dinner date with some fellow Buckeyes!! Our waitress probably wanted to get rid of us after 4 hours of chatting!
"Ike, it's time to go pick Jet up at preschool...." He comes around the corner like this and heads for the garage! haha!
 Emri's 1st grade pics.... such a beauty!
It was superhero day at preschool.... i asked dad to help with some kind of cape or mask or something he could wear. This is what he came up with! Oh man, he has outdone himself!!! "Jetty the Jet-pack Ninja Spy!" Jet was pretty stoked... he even had clips/buckles to get all strapped into!

Young Women Evening of Excellence. I snapped a few pics of the decorations, because they turned out really cute (and we spent lots of time on them)! The theme was based around the Savior as our "Compass," so we had maps, luggage, globes, etc.

Oh this sweet boy... love sleeping babes.
Things still looking good at the ultrasounds for baby....
 ...so little!
We are so proud of this girl! She loves school and is a great example to her peers. She was chosen by her teacher this month in her class as the student who displayed the trait of "teamwork" and got to have a special lunch with the principal!

We had Thanksgiving dinner at my Mom's house... and the only pics I got were these ones that I forced the kids outside in the cold for, so I could have a pic for our Christmas cards! It was SOOO cold out!!

After dinner, we took the kids over to Great Gpa/Gma Brklacich's house to visit. I love them so much!
