17 months......80 Something Years

----MORGAN FAMILY TIME----

Emri turned the ripe old age of 17 months the same day Great Grandpa Anderton celebrated the young age of 80---something! We took him a fresh strawberry shake, a burger and onion rings! Just what the dr ordered?!?!?! Grandpa hasn't been doing too well lately, so we're always happy when we get to visit and spend time with him and Great Grandma! Emri got a few good smiles out of him....usually it's the other way around, adults trying to make the kids happy!
Aunt Kim has this abnormally HUGE dog named Layne. Emri got such a kick out of him...especially when she rode on his back like he was a horse!
Storytime with Grandma. Even with 20 some-odd number of grandkids, she always takes time to make each one feel loved and special. I don't know how she keeps track of them all!
One day I want to have an AMAZING garden like this!! We picked some lettuce to feed to the horses...
Emri was in heaven having so many cousins around. And, where there's kids there's sure to be treats!
Ryan and Jaimi got this cute dog since we saw them last...her name is Gracie!
Pool time.... Charlie, Gma & E

We spent lots of time feeding and admiring the horses in grandpa's pasture

Morgan, Carter, and Dex (??? I can't remember, and can't even tell) performing "Chinikins" for us! Hilarious!
Dinner with just a few of the cousins...E, Kenya, Everett, Mac, Owen, Lincoln
Emri and Sawyer....only 2 mos apart in age. Yep, they'll be causing havoc together soon enough!
Other than some nasty 24hr. stomach flu-bug I caught the last day of being in Morgan we had a great time! Family, thanks for all the fun (as always)!!

Family Outings in Ogden

Emri and I were lucky to spend a week in Morgan with Brett's family. Lots of people think that's weird that I love my in-laws enough to visit without my hubby! They really are the BEST, what else can I say?!

---OGDEN PIONEER DAYS RODEO---
Emri got to experience her first rodeo and loved it! EVERYTIME the horses, sheep, random farm animals came barreling out of the shoots she'd neigh and clap; it never got old to her! It was blazin' hot outside as you can tell by E's pink cheeks...
...and Sawyer's lack of clothing! ha ha! Sawyer, Jaimilyn, & Ryan
Liam, Mindy, Marty, Charlie
Jim, Brigham (the newest cousin...we finally got to meet the cutie) and Tiff
Ruby & Kenya
Emri & Liam
It was fun to be in Utah over the 24th/Pioneer Day.....sadly, we don't get to really celebrate that here in Ohio.
Emri had never really been a carseat sleeper....until this trip. Poor girl got dragged around everywhere! She was a trooper and such a good girl with all the late nights and time change issues.
---OGDEN DINOSAUR PARK---
We spent an afternoon with cousins diggin in the dirt and looking at dinosaurs!
Sawyer, Emri, Owen, & Courtney
Sawyer & Emri on the "nurnle" as she calls it!
E and Momma---some of the dinos (not this one) were a little freaky....like the red bloody one laying on the ground with T-Rex hovering over him. Hello, isn't that a little much for kids?!
the stroller brigade... E, Owen, Charlie, Tabitha, Sawyer, Mac

---OGDEN CHILDREN'S TREEHOUSE MUSEUM---
Grandma treated Emri and Tabitha to a day at the kids museum. It was actually toddler hour....and quite crazy! Emri and "Tabba" had lots of fun and wore themselves (and gma and me) out!

------RIVERDALE SPLASH PAD------
The cousins hit up the splash pad....along with every other kid in Ogden that day! I think it was something like 97 degrees.... scorcher!
Ruby, Charlie, & Liam
Splash Pads seem to be the new big thing in Utah....the great thing is, they're free!
"Owee" and Meg
Yep, it's blurry....she was on a mission!

Can it be Waterproof?!?!

Is it sad that this was the main question I asked the doctor when he said E needed to have her arm immobilized/in a cast for 3 weeks??

Apparently there is some genius of a person out there that understands the NEED to play in the water during steamy Ohio summer months! Emri is sporting this cute purple goretex cast....and yes it's waterproof!! As you can see... she's quite happy about it too! :)
The orthopedic doc needed a couple more xrays today....luckily Brett was there this time and he got to hold her while she was crying. Then I held her and tried to keep her calm w/ fruit snacks while the tech and Brett held her still for the cast. After 3 weeks they will remove the cast and that's that....no more xrays or other treatment needed! YAY! Thanks all for your prayers for little E. We feel them!

Utah Part 1

Emri and I were able to take a trip to Utah (while Brett was doing a rotation at the VA Hospital in Dayton, OH). It was so good to see family and friends. We always run ourselves ragged while were there and STILL don't get to see everyone we want to!

Our trip actually started with a drive to Cincinnati to see some of our favorite people! Emri was so pleased to hang out with Bex for the afternoon!
We found a fun fountain to relax by....I stupidly sat on the edge and soaked my pants...then walked around the town looking like I'd had an accident! Luckily it was 95 degrees out so it dried pretty fast! Kara drove us to the airport and we had a direct flight (Columbus no longer offers that luxury)! Emri was a pill! We were both exhausted by the end of the flight....she finally fell asleep when the plane stopped at the gate in SLC. grrrrrr. When I got off the plane swore I'd never do that again...without Brett!

We went to Herriman Lake and played on the "beach." It's this awesome little man-made lake next to a new housing development....It was E's first time playing in the sand. SHE LOVED IT!

E and Brittany (Brody's awesome girlfriend)!
We had a BBQ w/ the Brklacich's.... Emri helped Grandpa keep the slip 'n slide soaked
Many people got thrown into the kiddie pool....against their will
The big kids had more fun on the slip 'n slide than the little kids (Andi & Kolby)
Ok, except for this little kid! She didn't miss out on any fun!

We went for morning walks w/ Momma Max and found this on the road....the butterfly was injured and couldn't fly.
I have so many pics to filter through...I'll try to get them up soon.

**As a side note, thanks to everyone who sent prayers and thoughts our way for an easy flight home....they were definitely answered, and much appreciated! Everything went smoothly! Emri is doing great with her arm (other than refusing to wear the sling)...it hasn't really slowed her down much! We see an orthopedic doctor tomorrow to make sure she doesn't need surgery and see how long the healing process will take.**

First time to the E.R.

Our trip to Utah has been great....until today. Emri fell off the couch and caught herself with her arm. She was really favoring her left arm and wouldn't stop crying. We spent FIVE long hours at the E.R. Pretty much the slowest hospital visit/service ever!

Hours 1-2: crying, xrays, screaming and more xrays and more screaming till she finally exhausted herself into a nap.
Hours 3-4: trying to keep a toddler happy in a confined room with toys and crackers (because she's missing dinner while we wait to see what's wrong)...she cried at every stranger that came in the room :(
Hour 5: We find out E has a "radial head fracture" and needs to be splinted until she can see an orthopedic doc. Shouldn't need surgery, but they want us to go see just to make sure. More screaming while the medical techs try to splint her arm. This little cutie is one strong baby!! She finally just buried her head into my chest because she hated watching the strangers work on her.
RX: don't get wet. wear sling. try to keep elevated. See orthopedic doc upon return to Ohio.

Ummmm how do you do that with a toddler?
I felt awful. It's so hard to see your baby in pain. This could make our flight home even more tricky! Wish us luck on Tuesday morning. Stay tuned for lots of Utah pics!
