Emri @ 2 1/2 Years

Time is flying and our little peanut is growing up too fast! 2 is a hard age, but it's also very rewarding! Emri's personality comes with tenderness, spunk, some attitude, love of everyone around her, curiosity, silliness, dancing, snuggles, giggles and definitely her fair share of sass! She keeps laughing and always on our toes!

This particular day she screamed at me on the other side of the door demanding that "I don't need a NAP!"...and this is how i found her 10 minutes later (passed out for 3 hours) it took all my strength to push the door open!
A lover of ALL things water...

She is 100% daddy's girl...and is his shadow every second of the day that he is home. She races to meet him at the door after work and doesn't leave his side till bedtime (which really is nice when i'm making dinner and tending to Jet). Her new name for Brett is "bestie!"

She's in seventh heaven with all her cousins around. This picture cracks me up....the sunscreen on their faces makes them look ghostly! Emri and "Tabba" (Tabitha).
Willa and Emri enjoying icecream at great gma/gpas house.
Emri says lots of silly things; I need to be better about writing them all down. Today she asked me "Momma, does stahfish fly in da aeh?" (Do starfish fly in the air?)

A few weeks ago I was putting her to bed. I always tell her she's my favorite girl. This particular night I said "You're my favorite..." and I paused so she could finish my sentence and she finished it with a Toy Story line "....Deputy!" I was cracking up. Then she said, "There's a Snake in my Boots!!"

Her vocabulary has grown a ton since we moved here....I think it's from being around so many people/cousins so much. She speaks in complete sentences most of the time and has figured out how to ask questions. She used to say "I can have a sucker?" She had the inflections right, so I knew she was asking a question, but now she says "Can I..."

She has picked up a few funny phrases lately, including "whah da heck?!"

Potty training has been a crazy roller coaster....I thought we had it down in Ohio. The move made her totally go backwards, not to mention all the vacations and being in different places nonstop. It has slowly gotten better again, now that we're in more of a regular routine but I'm sure we'll regress once more when we move into our own place in the near future.

Tantrums. WOW. I didn't think she had it in her. I was WRONG (first time ever). This girl can throw a fit! I swear she'll be an actress...those tears come in a split second! Over nothing! Please tell me it's a phase (that will end real soon)!

Aside from the tantrum moments she has a very tender side to her. Out of the blue she will tell us she loves us and give hugs/kisses. If Jet is upset, she pats him and tells him it's okay and kisses his head.

Still misses her Ohio house and asks about going home. Makes me sad.

Loves her "Dzetty Boy," or "Dzet-dzet". It's so fun to see her interact with Jet. She can get him smiling better than anyone. She always acts surprised to see him and says "He's awake?!" Apparently she thinks all he does is sleep :)

Emri is so independent right now....or at least she thinks she is! "I wanna do it ah by mysewf." I hear that phrase more times in one day than I can count!

She's still into Curious George, and also loves Bubble Guppies and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Her favorite movies right now are Tangled, Little Mermaid and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

Jet @ 6 Months

6 MONTH STATS
Weight: 16 lb. 9 oz. (24%)
Height: 25.75 inches (18%)
Head Circumference: 17.75 inches (79%)

a shrimp with big brains?!
a cute one at that!

He's got the chub, but not like his sister did!
Love him!At 6 months Jet:
  • is doing better with cereal, though rice makes him fussy. He likes oatmeal and has started a few foods: sweet potatoes, squash.
  • has found his feet and likes to suck his toes...especially in the tub!
  • doesn't last long on his back before rolling to his tummy, which usually makes him spit up, then get bugged because he won't roll back over to his back.
  • eats every 4 hrs
  • takes 2-3 naps
  • while i feed him he loves to run his fingers through my hair, or play with my necklace
  • loves to see himself in the mirror, especially after bath time when he's all wrapped up in a towel
  • is giving us more laughs than emri did at this point, i love it!
  • LOVES Emri! It's so fun to see them interact. Emri loves to call him Jetty boy :)
  • grabs everything and pulls it straight to his mouth.
  • got to stay with Grandma Max again for a long weekend and came back snuggly and taking his pacifier! He's always so hit and miss with the thing!
  • Is still a pretty happy boy, unless he's tired, then just wants to be laid in bed. Church is hard....he's not much of a boy who will fall asleep in your arms :/

6

We celebrated our 6 year anniversary twice this year :) We usually try to do something different that just dinner and a movie. REAL Salt Lake played the Columbus Crew on our actual anniversary..... so we thought that would be fun to do! We ended up getting hooked up with sweet tickets and free food, thanks to a family friend! SCORE! We were a little torn by who to cheer for though! Columbus ended up winning, but we didn't clap too loud! :)

It was kind of a boring game...as you can see by this next picture. I'm not sure which REAL player this even is, but I was apparently intrigued by his trapezius! haha! Honestly though, have you ever seen one so defined?!?!?! ANYWAY....back to our night....
The fight between teams after the game was about the most exciting part of the evening!
***************************
A couple weeks after our anniversary we splurged! We doubled with Brett's brother Jared and his wife Ingrid. We hit Park City first for dinner at Wasatch Brewery (I was wild and had RootBeer on draught...actually, I didn't know that's how you spelled it....I would have put "draft"...I know, I had you all convinced I was wild)! After dinner we headed up to beautiful Deer Valley Resort to see "The Sound of Music" play at the outdoor amphitheater.
Obviously this pic of the stage is terrible....but I mostly took it for the backdrop. Ahhhhh, how i LOVE being back in the mountains.
We had a great time....Brett was obviously stoked about his hot chocolate, and warm bread with honey butter for a snack!
Jared complaining that Ingrid chipped his tooth.....she's real sympathetic about it! Good thing we know a few dentists :)
Ingrid and me
Happy 6 years!

Reynolds Reunion 20eleven, Island Park

We did it again! For the 3rd consecutive year we managed to gather people with unmanageable schedules!! We returned to our 2009 spot, Buttermilk Campgrounds in Island Park, ID.

I know you are thinking: this picture doesn't look like a campground! Luckily we got the best of both worlds....with a cabin hook-up minutes from the campsites. My parents and brothers stayed at the cabin. Brett and I wanted to "rough it" with our cousins, so we stayed in a camper trailer at Buttermilk! It was awesome!

One great thing about hangin at the cabin.... "swimming" in a body of water that wasn't cold!
The dutch-oven masters....and their oh so yummy peach cobbler!
We spent the days boating on the lake....

Remember Emri's first boat ride? Poor Jet gets the pink hand-me-downs :) Sadly he didn't enjoy being on the boat as much as Emri did as a baby...I sure hope he gets over that by next summer!
Michelle (Kade's girlfriend), Ayden, Emri and I tubing.
Brett skiing for the first time in several years....it's so nice to be back near family with boats :)
All I can say is burrrrrr! My cousins reassured me that the water was a balmy 70 degrees, but when the last place you boated was Lake Powell, this chilly mountain lake felt like 30 degrees! Still plenty of fun though!

Jet and his bestie

Emri was so wiped out that she didn't care who she snuggled with! This is Eric, my cousin Heather's hubby. Emri had never met him before :) He has a little girl coming soon....I think you've got the touch Eric!
I think E should be in peanut butter advertising....who wouldn't buy Skippy from that cute stinker?!
Jet trying to catch some ZZZZ's while the rest of us played in the lake.
Emri and her bestie....

Ayden, Aunna, Emri enjoying their light-up frisbees
One night we had a dutch oven feast for about 50 people.....it was amazing!

Emri was in HEAVEN with all these girl cousins to play with!
MaKenna, Aunna, E, Kyree, Shianne, Madison
haha! These 2 will kill me for posting this, but that's what they get for not smiling! My Mom with her sister Lynnette --aka-- Netty Crocker!

Kolby. hmmmm, not really sure how to explain this... must have been trying to pick up some chicks at the next campground with an outfit like that :)
Brett lounging outside our humble abode :)
So fun....can't wait till next year!
