This big girl was sooo looking forward to her doctor visit! She's always done well at the pediatrician. She knew there would be no "pokeys" and would be a sticker and sucker!
Weight: 28.8 lbs. (29%)
Height: 38 inches (73%)
She's grown 5 inches since last birthday....and only gained 0.3 lbs.

What a difference A YEAR makes! Here's Emri...and her puppet :)
Breakfast in bed...
A few shots of the silly girl...
That solo dimple...perhaps one of my favorite features on that sweet face!
- is still very much a tender heart. She's soft spoken and is easily upset. In fact as we were leaving the doctors office she was playing with some toys while I scheduled our next appointments....I heard some sniffles and with teary eyes, she walked up to me totally sad. I looked over, and a toddler (probably 18 months or so) had taken Emri's sucker right out of her mouth and helped herself to it! Emri just walked away, not defending herself at all. Does that usually come with a first child?!
- is still 100% daddy's girl, unless she's in trouble with him....then it's me she wants! haha!
- is still a bit ambidextrous when it comes to eating, but generally picks up crayons or pencils to color with her right hand.
- has to sleep with bear, princess blanket, and about 20 other stuffed friends by her side.
- has mostly given up naps the last coupe months....maybe 1 or 2 a week. She's transitioned well into afternoon quiet time in her room while Jet sleeps.
- is potty trained. It takes a lot for me to really say that now....since i thought we had it several times! Accidents every once in a while (like the one at Target with Brett last week...great story) but is now TELLING US when she needs to go, which was our biggest obstacle to overcome! So proud of her....and happy about this!
- Since we moved and just have basic cable and no TVO to help with the budget, she's only got a few channels to watch.....her top shows are Curious George, Word World, & Dinosaur Train. She still loves to catch up on other TV at Grandma's houses where they are recorded for her :)
- Loves "Jet Boy" or "Jetty Boy" and is usually pretty good to play with him and help keep him entertained.
- Likes to act like a baby and be coddled, especially when Jet is getting attention. I think this is a normal thing?
- LOVES her grandmas and grandpas and always gets so excited to visit their houses!
- She and Brett have a special song together....a song from his mission in Tonga. They sing it each night at bedtime. She sang it for me last week and I was blown away...she knew the whole thing! IN TONGAN! I don't even know the song!
- loves to play "I'm the baby dinosaur (or any other animal), you're the mommy dinosaur..."
- doesn't have a concept of tense and it's cute...anything past tense she refers to as "last night" whether it happened, last week, last night, or 10 minutes ago :)
- Says some pretty funny things! I don't always write them down, but here are a few from recently:
E (as we're driving home from Morgan one afternoon):
"I need some fresh cold in here. Can you push my window button?"
Mom: "Ouch, I just bumped my elbow on the wall!"
E: "I'm sorry momma. You should get some small arms like me!"
E: "Thanks momma for making me lunch."
Mom: "You're welcome Em."
E: "I know I'm welcome!"
E (to me when she walked in the bathroom as I was getting into the shower): "oooo, momma, nice bum-bums (looking at my chest)!"
Me: "What the?!?!" --who is this kid?!
One day Jet was having it pretty rough. He cried a lot. Emri said "I know what will make him happy" and she went up to her room and brought her BELOVED princess blanky down and laid it next to him on the floor (he LOVES her blanket, and she usually doesn't let him have it to himself). It was such a sweet thoughtful thing for her to think of!
Last week Jet was in his highchair and I was back and forth feeding him and getting dinner ready....at one point I left him there for a few minutes and he wasn't too happy....Emri jumped up in my seat and said she would feed him for me. It was great...she spoon fed him the rest of his baby food while I finished dinner! Such a big help!
Oh Emri, how we love your spunky personality and the big girl you are becoming! It's going by so fast! I hate for you to grow up, but at the same time it's so fun to watch you learn and grow! You bring so much joy and love into our home and we are SO lucky you are part of our family! We love you baby girl!
