Annual Pie Pig Out

So happy for traditions! This one we stole from some Ohio friends, and have loved carrying it on! Sadly I didn't take any pictures until everyone was getting ready to leave.

We had some friends over from the neighborhood...the kids all are in the same age range. As you can see the girls are a bit outnumbered!
Jessica, Jami, Katie, Alli--i just love these girls!
Travis, Brian, Travis, Brett & Jet
The rule is: Calories DON'T count on pie pig out night! We eat to our hearts content (or till we're ready to puke...whichever comes first)...that way on Thanksgiving night when we're stuffed from a delicious dinner, we don't feel bad if we don't get to eat lots of pie! We already did....

Ike @ 2 Months

This cute little monster is already 2 months old!!!
WEIGHT: 12 lb. 7 oz. (48%)
HEIGHT: 23 inches long (41%)
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE: 15 5/8 inches (66%)

This cracks me up....maybe he saw a ghost?! As much as I try to swaddle his arms down he usually insists they be out...or at least by his face.

 Never fear...Superman is here!

Mom needs to stop being a slacker with tummy time!
I'm so in love with this round face!

The morning he turned 8 weeks....and also slept all the way through the night for the first time!! GOOD BOY!! I fed him at 10, put him back down and he didn't wake up till 7:30am!
A little about Ike:
  • is a very mellow boy!
  • got shots at his appointment and cried for about 5 seconds, then was ok.
  • he loves being talked to and gives smiles and is starting to coo, Emri loves to make him smile.
  • loves bathtime, still a little unsure about lotion!
  • ~ 6 weeks would sleep 6-7 hours at night
  • @ 8 weeks slept through the night, and has been doing it every few nights since. We're getting there!
  • likes books and kicks his legs while being read to.
  • just moved into size 2 diapers!
  • loves to suck on his hands and mittens
  • is starting to lose his hair :(
  • puts himself to sleep at bedtime. We're still working on naps...sometimes he goes down without crying, other times mom rocks him to sleep.
  • I couldn't have asked for a better tempered, sweeter baby for #3. I was pretty scared, but he's a dream!

a BFF gets hitched!

One of my besties from HS got hitched! We all say "finally" but really, she was just waiting for the perfect guy--for her-- to come around and I think she definitely got him!

The girls at Katie's wedding dinner
~Jami~Angi~Jami~Katie~Jaime~
And with our significant others....who's names ALL happen to start w/ "BR!" We have:
Jaime & BRyan, BRenda & Jami, BRett & Jami, Angi & BRock, and now Katie & BRandon!! Ok, Brenda's name is actually Keri, but we don't want her to be left out!
Katie has been living in Cali for the past 8+ years, and Brandon is from Florida, but luckily the wedding was in UTAH! Katie was absolutely stunning!!!!

Such an exciting day!!

Halloween!!

The kids couldn't have been more excited for trick-or-treating this year. Both are now old enough to realize all they need to do for a load of candy is throw on a costume! Emri was Snow White...and loved the idea of black hair until she saw herself in the mirror! She had it black for her preschool party, but didn't want it for "real trick-or-treat day!"
Emri, and her friend Luke the skeleton at the preschool trunk or treat.
 Emri's preschool class.
Halloween we spent in Morgan...we love going there because of the business trick-or-treat. It's in the afternoon and perfect for the littler kids. It was quite a bit colder this year than the past 2, so we didn't go back out after dark. Little Ike was given these jammies, complete with attachable cape from our cute babysitter, Louisa. They were perfect for a costume...and i couldn't stop laughing at how the cape just hung perfectly off of the baby bjorn!
Cutest Spidey and Princess ever! Jet's mask kept sliding up and making it hard to see....

...one of our favorite stops is at the nachos!

Our other favorite stop is sneaking in Great Gma Sugar's back door to show her our costumes. She's always so excited to see all the grandkids!
The night was a success...we even left a little chocolate on his face he could lick of for a midnight snack. :)

Fall Leaves

As sad as I always am to see Summer go, at least the beautiful fall leaves help with the transition. I'm grateful we've had lots of nice days to enjoy the season. Brett and the kids took care of the front yard clean-up one Saturday while I was at a wedding all day.

We played in the neighbor's pile one afternoon. The colors of their trees combined was AMAZING! There is not a filter on this pic! Gorgeous red and golden colors!
The kids with our neighbor/friend/fave babysitter Louisa!
We had yard clean-up #2 on another perfect Saturday...I got to help this time....and well, the kids make quick of destroying any pile raked!
The kids and I were running errands in Ogden one afternoon and it was yet ANOTHER gorgeous day, so we picked up pizza, daddy (on his lunch hour), and went to Mt. Ogden Park for an impromptu picnic. Wish we could have stayed all afternoon.
