Ike @ 9 Months

9 Month Well Check Stats:
Weight:17 lb. 6 oz. (13%)
Height: 28 inches (34%)
Head Circumference: 17 7/8 inches (62%)
Happy Personality: 100%

At 9 Months, Ike:

  • is now sitting up well by himself
  • loves to drink from straws
  • Is eating formula supplemented milk now
  • loved avocado as his first "real food," not pureed
  • FINALLY GOT RID OF HIS GOOPY EYE! YAY! Emri and Jet would pray for his eye to get better EVERY night in their bedtime prayers. I'm so glad someone heard those prayers and we won't need a surgery to fix it. It's so nice to not be wiping gunk out of it all day. Now they pray that "Ikey's eye will stay better."
  • Loves to give big open mouth kisses
  • Can maneuver himself to get where he wants to be, by rolling, wiggling, and reaching.
  • Lately doesn't want much to do with baby food, but really wants people food.
  • Still no teeth...which limits the "people food!"
  • Other food he's liked is: watermelon & mangoes
  • Loves to mimic us and can click his tongue.
  • Says "dada dada...." but not calling Brett that...

Andertons Take Over St. George

The Andertons did things a little different this summer for a reunion...instead of Bear Lake, we headed south to St. George where Brett's parents found a house that would fit every last one of us!

The temperature was rising.... had to take a pic at the huge rocking chair in Beaver.
The cousins were so excited to all be together, going to bed at a normal time was never in the plans! Late night swimming!
Ike was breaking all the rules too.... food too big to eat....

...and drinks that shouldn't be allowed. No teeth yet, so no big deal right?!?!
We mostly stayed on the property, but ventured out one day to hike the narrows at Dixie Rock.
My claustrophobic self was really wishing i was Jet's size as I shimmied through that crack!
Morgan (niece) and I trying not to panic on our way through.
Things were a little trickier for the big boys. Brett had Marty (the local) to help him through. Let's just say I'm glad we all got out alive! :-/
The kids looking down in the narrow waiting for everyone to get through.
Jet and cousin Lincoln who he adores!
Ike and Georgia chillin in the shade....
I could post 50 more pictures of this cute little pool shark! Gah! So adorable!

The "girls dorm!" All the little girls were IN HEAVEN getting to all share a room together!

 More swim time!

In the afternoons, when it got super hot, we played in the indoor pool! Jet is beyond exhausted here....but refused to stop playing!
When the kids were water-logged, they hung out/passed out in the theater room.
One night we played group relay games and hung out in the yard. These cousins are so lucky to have each other!

Liam, Owen, Sawyer, Jet, Brigham.... such good buddies.

 Rocket launching....

We had such a fun time..... all thanks to these two people who are always so willing to make memories happen!
Thank You Ric and Sharon for your endless planning and willingness to pull off events like this!! We are pretty dang lucky to have you!

May Happenings

May brought lots of crazy preschool fun...the kids got to celebrate their last day of homework with a pj party!
I got to attend a "Mother's Tea Party" at the preschool. The kids are so cute, sing songs, drew the mom's pictures and served us juice and cookies!
At church I'm over the Beehive class (12/13 yr old girls). It's a busy calling, but i love it. We had a youth fireside at the bishop's house one Sunday evening and the weather was perfect!
The warmer weather has us all playing hard and it wears the kids out which i love! Since Jet no longer "naps" in his bed on a daily basis, we regularly find him passed out in the late afternoons....sometimes in the weirdest places and positions!

We have loved taking walks on the trail in our neighborhood. Jet, Ike and friend, Eva
Jet, friend Luke, Emri & friend Eva
This marked the day I officially became a mom?? I guess after 5 years I should be grateful it has only happened ONCE! Jet had been complaining of a tummy ache since dinner (which we thought was a ploy to get him out of sitting still to eat dinner). At bedtime he was still telling Brett his tummy hurt, the cried for me. I went into his room and sat on the floor, he climbed in my lap and immediately barfed all down the front of me and him. BLAHHHH! On a good note, it wasn't on his bed or on the carpet, so it made for easy cleanup!
We went to the USU extensions Baby Animal Days in Kaysville again. The kids wanted to ride the horses (Jet was a bit leary but still wanted to go).

The kids were in shock as we made them watch a sheep get sheared. They were not fans!
Emri finished up her Spring soccer season. Seriously the cutest little things to watch!
My mom and I spent the Saturday before Mother's Day together, shopping at the Traverse Mountain Outlets. We did some damage, but found lots of sales!
Me and the kiddos on Mother's Day...we failed to get a pic in our Sunday clothes before church...after church is just ridiculous....everyone is DONE with everything!
This dress was a Happy Mother's Day gift to myself! haha!
I had to document this.... So I mowed our lawn for the FIRST time ever since we've lived here (going on 3 years)! And it was probably only my 2nd time ever pushing a lawn mower (I have mowed on a riding lawnmower at my Grandparents in Idaho when I was younger). In all honesty I wasn't quite sure how to start the mower, etc....so the following is part of the text conversation Brett and I had when I asked if I could try to mow! He's so lucky to have me!!! :)
Don't worry, I figured it out AND did a fantastic job!

So a while back, several of Brett's family members had the idea to put in for the Ogden Half Marathon lottery...and well, we got in! I kinda signed Brett up without his full consent. I trained regularly and He halfway trained. Then, there we were the night before the race, carb-loading at Union Grill in Ogden
Our dinner group Staci, Jaimi & Ryan, Jami & Brett, Mindy & Marty
Pre-Race, bright and early!

The course is amazing....beautiful along Pineview Reservoir, across the dam and down Ogden Canyon into downtown Ogden, ending on 25th Street.
 Soooo glad to be done!

A little post-race rub down. It hurt so good! Prob my least favorite of the 3 halves I've done....I ran by myself which is boring, then didn't feel so hot after.... for about 5 days. YUCK!
Poor Brett had some pretty bad shin splints with training, then switched up his running a bit during the race to try and alleviate the pain...which in turn caused his calf muscles to ball up! We finished though! haha!
Sweet baby ike is still as good as ever....LOVES baths and fusses when they are over!
This little girl has sure grown up a lot in the last 9 months...1st day and last day of PreK!
They had their final program/graduation where they each got to dress like their favorite Mother Goose nursery rhyme they learned this past year. Emri picked the Queen of Hearts.
Emri and her friend Trevin
We are so lucky to have such awesome support from family! Gma & Gpa Anderton came...
...and so did Gma Max.
Our family....squinting because the sun was SO bright!
Emri and the amazing Miss Jackie. She has been such an awesome teacher for Emri the last 2 years! Oh man I wish I could just freeze time and keep her in preschool forever!
The last hurrah for pre-k was a trip to the movies!! Emri w/ her friends Ryder and Luke and Miss Jackie.
On a Saturday morning I was headed to the Bountiful Temple....and got a dang FLAT TIRE! I was only about 10 minutes from home, so luckily this sweet hubby of mine came to save the day! He switched to the spare and swapped me cars. I went to the temple and he went to the tire store for 4 brand new tires. :( That definitely wasn't in the budget!
We spent Memorial Weekend in town, roasting hotdogs and mallows with friends...
...and making a trip to the Morgan cemetery to visit grandpa Anderton's grave.
 AND NOW it's SUMMERTIME!!!!!!!
My most favorite time of the year!!

This summer, you can find our family members here:
The kids and I love splash pads! Free...and they can't drown!
I am at the ball park in Morgan on Thursday nights, playing in the dirt.
And nothing says summer like the smell of wet cement while you warm up, or the taste of water from the hose!! I know the next 3 months will fly by way too fast; they always do!
