Other June Happenings...

June seemed to fly right by with so much going on. Besides our St. George and Lake Powell trips, we squeezed in some other exciting stuff. I spent part of a day on Temple Square with the youth in our ward for Youth Conference.
Baby Ike got his first haircut by our favorite stylist, Brooke!
All the kids got "summer cuts" that day :)
Father's Day with the main man in our lives.
We had a BBQ at my parents for Father's Day with the Brklacich's. This is my dad, his parents and sibs.
 Jana, Bonnie, Mark, Danny, Dad
Grandpa & Grandma

Emri loves to play with the big girls when we are with the Brklacich's.
Britney, Emri, Jaylee, Danielle.
Me and my auntie's Jana & Bonnie
Some of the girls in the fan (oh and some how Ike snuck in there)!
Gorgeous sunset on "Sunset Drive" in Layton on our way home.
Somehow a bunch of stars aligned and we were able to get MANY of our "Ohio friends" in Utah all at the same time this year! Friends came from: Idaho, parts of Utah, Texas, Ohio, and Arizona for a "girls" weekend! We had such a fun few days....
...the Ohio kids all reunited (plus many more that have been born since our time there).
Jet and Boston. Jet was only 3 months when we moved. He and Bos share a bday!
The Anderton, Williams and part of the Royce bunch. We were lucky some of our friends could come stay at our house!
These princesses were all born within a year of each other. So bummed we don't live close now....they got along so well!
Emri, Sam and Jersey.
The girls: Amanda, Mindy, Kara, Tricia, Heather, Jami, Emily
The girls were able to sneak away (sans kids!) for dinner at Twigs. We closed that restaurant down, then grabbed ice-cream in Harmon's (the only thing still open at 11pm) and stayed out late catching up on everyones lives!

The Thunderbirds were in town for the weekend and we made an appearance at the Air Show. We can see them perform from our deck at home....but there's something just so cool about being right there on the Base to see all the stunts they do. Completely amazed!

How on earth is this possible?!

Lake Powell '14

How in the world am I supposed to narrow down 517 pictures, taken in 5 days, at one of my favorite places on earth, to an amount small enough for the blog?! I just can't!! So here's the sum-up in 50 pictures!

This year the only families able to go during the time scheduled was ours and Brett's brother Ryan and his family. It was a much smaller group than we're used to but we had a great time!!! There were a few setbacks before arriving, with a boat trailer issue for the in-laws, some car troubles prior to leaving for Brett's brother + a carsick kid on the way down, and the boat canvas ripping on the way down, flapping like crazy and destroying a box full of food.... we thought we were out of the woods when WE arrived without any issues. Only our troubles were when we arrived back home to a fridge/freezer that had gone out while we were away. BLAHHHH! There's always somethin'! Anyway, back to the trip...so fun!

Basically, the kids are (mostly) fearless! They LOVE being pulled behind grandpas boat on the tube. Thumbs up = GO FASTER!! The smiles on my kids faces is a little bit of heaven for me!

Each afternoon was a great time to take Jet on the boat for a little cat nap!
Catchin' some air with the big boys!

Brystun brought his friend, Noah. They spent lots of time on their "fishing rock," and were pretty successful!

Grandpa taught them how to gut a fish, then we grilled them for dinner. Um.... "we" as in THEY ate them, not me!
Jet is a pretty particular boy when it comes to people....there are only about a handful of people that he will cling to. Brystun is one of them! They built legos together...
...and Brystun is also the ONLY person Jet wanted on the green tube with him. Not even Mom or Dad!
My sexy captain!

Sight seeing on Sunday. We toured Annie's Canyon and found some cool ruins and formations.

I'd love to be there when there's a waterfall coming off these cliffs.

 We hiked to the arch...
This girl loves to be on a boat!
It wouldn't be Powell without a dance party...
and late night games after the kids are sleeping.
Trying to act younger than we are.... but feeling our age the next day!

 Coloring seashells....
Emri cruised on the orange board again this year....
...Jet didn't love it as much as last year! They seem to get more aware of fears after the age of 2!
I taught everyone the best way to dunk an Oreo in milk... :)

Good thing they had each other on the trip. We were overrun with boys!
 Kenya & Emri hangin on!
The kids made these cute shirts (thanks Pinterest). Jet freaked when i painted his hand blue, but was ok with the finished product!
We always have to have a little family photo shoot on the trip :)

 Jami & Jaimi
One of my favorite pictures of the whole trip! These boys love to taunt Brett while he drives them...and in turn, Brett loves to be the one to try and dump them off!
 Kenya and I...
Uh, not sure what happened here?!
Jaimi and Jami....Jaimi was NOT a fan of Brett after this ride!
 Hiking for a cliff jump

I have some pretty daring nieces and nephews! This is sawyer (5). Emri chose to pass on this activity! haha!
Had to get a pic of our coordinating suits!
Jet and Noah konked out. Silly boys!
When we got off the houseboat and to our car. The kids passed out in less than 3 minutes!! I'd say that's a successful week!! We had a blast!
All these memories wouldn't be possible without these 2 awesome people!! Thanks for another amazing year.... and to my Momma Max as well for keeping Baby Ike for the week so he wouldn't have to bake in the 100 degree weather!
