A couple days before the 4th a friend of Brett's from school threw a great BBQ/Party at his parent's BEAUTIFUL home in Zanesville. When we pulled up I asked Brett if they live on a golf course! The yards in their "neighborhood" were gorgeous...and huge! I've never been out past the East side of Columbus, so it was a first for us!! It took a little over an hour to get there, but it was well worth the drive! Thanks to the Clarks for your hospitality towards all of us poor dental students! Everything was amazing....food, games, fireworks....! We loved it!

Some of the girls:
Melanie (Matt's darling mom), Sierra (I think, sorry it was our first time meeting), Kate & Averi, Molly & Lexi, Me and Emri, Kara & Abigail, Amanda. Averi, Emri, and Abigail were all born within a couple of weeks of eachother!

Molly, Lexi and James giving a sparkler a try!

Typical scenario of boys and fireworks! What is the fascination with lighting an explosive in your hand....and then when it goes off screaming.....the boy jumps, yells, and shakes his hand as if he's surprised IT HURT?!?!?!? Weird! And these boys are smart enough to be in graduate school?! If that were me....I'd be all for protecting those money-makers!

The firework show! Hopefully the neighbors didn't mind the hour of ruckus....at 10pm....2 days before the actual holiday!

Emri did great with all the noise....and we kept her up late! She even was quick enough to track most of the fireworks that flew up into the sky before exploding! Here she is with daddy watching the fireworks!
This was our 1st 4th of July spent in Ohio, since last year we were at Niagra Falls. We decided to hit up the Hilliard Parade and festivities with some friends. The weather was bearable....it could have been a lot hotter! I Love. Love. parades....it's just not the 4th of July without one. Growing up, the big parade in South Jordan went right past our house, so we always had the best seats....and never had to go early to save them!
SO....apparently a "FLOAT," around here, means hitching a trailer to your truck and filling it with little league baseball teams that are asking the crowd to throw candy TO THEM! What ever happened to all the decorations, and the little hidden guy driving the actual float with teenage beauty queens standing at their post and doing the parade wave??? Nope, didn't see one of those floats! (plus in Utah, each ward...and stake has it's own float too)! So, Ohio parades are a little different, but still enjoyable!

Me, Amanda & Heather

Dallin, Brett and Emri (she struggled through the parade, since it was right during nap time....and she refused! I don't blame her, there was a lot of commotion)

I asked Brett to take a picture of her semi-patriotic outfit....and apparently this is the best he could do!
We had a BBQ in the afternoon that got rained out, so we had to stay inside. The food was still great and the company was too! We went to a neighborhood park to watch the fireworks from a distance so we didn't have to fight traffic and crowds! It was perfect!

Amanda, Boston, Heather & Brandon

The Williams Clan

Our little family enjoying the fireworks! Emri sat so still and LOVED the bright lights!! She was asleep though the second we started our drive home! It was a long day for the little squirt!!
HaPpY BiRtHdAy to KARA too....we missed you and wish you could have been here to celebrate (and we hope you got your birthday icecream this year)!

Cute pictures Jami. I love being able to keep in contact with you this way. It is so much fun to hear about your cute little family. Hey did Angi get rid of her blog? I can't seem to find it. Anyway I'm glad you had a good 4th!
E looks so cute in her 4th outfit! (Bretts quite the photographer!) ;) It looks like you had a great weekend...parade and fireworks...glad Brett gave in! :)
Talk to ya soon...
ANy birthday plans?
I feel the same way about parades! I loved the South Jordan parades as a kid and I always associate the 4th with those parades! I loved the post!
How fun! Isn't it kind of weird to spend holidays like the 4th without family? I went out with some friends and watched the fireworks that downtown Minneapolis put on, but it just wasn't the same without the family.
Jami, T- minus 5 hours until your 27th birthday!!!! Holy smokes you're getting old. I'm sure your man is going to treat you to some great things on your big day, he always does.
Anyway, your 4th festivities looked great! I'm so glad that Emri did well during the fireworks. On my nephew's first 4th of July he cried and cried when the fireworks shot off so I was slightly worried about Hazel. Luckily, she loved them and fell asleep about 1 minute after they started.
Emri looks so adorable in her outfit. You have the best headbands.
Thanks Jami-I hope we get the house too! I'll keep you posted. :) I hope all is well, your little Emri is sucha DOLL!!!
Um I'm bored!!
I mean, I have things to do, but I want you to come over and do something else with me...
