Uncle Bridger was in town for one night on business. It was kind of sad because Emri didn't recognize him. She looked at me with the biggest pouty lip ever, then started to cry when he first said hi to her...after a while she warmed up to him.

Momma Max sent out a couple new rubber duckies for bath time. She LOVES to suck on them when they're wet and I have to watch her close because she can fit the whole head in her mouth on a few of them!

Always happy after bath time....and a lotion rub down!

Eating solid foods, however, does not make this girl smile! It's quite a fight to get anything down her up to this point. Her pediatrician wanted us to start her on cereal at 4 months to try to help with her reflux. She hated it and her new med seemed to do the trick, so I hadn't been very diligent in feeding her cereal since she seems to be full enough after her regular feedings.

A couple weeks ago we gave it another try just to see and still no luck! Last week we decided to add some flavor to see if that helped....I know there's lots of opinions out there about whether to start veggies or fruits first. We tried sweet potatoes...probably the reason for the mess below...and still not much success!

Actually, this was Brett's doing! He decided the only way she'd let him get close to her mouth with the spoon was if she did it herself (ahhhh....already independent)! So, he got out 2 spoons and gave her one after the other. Um, she definitely needed a bath after this. I'm not sure any of the sweet potatoes really made it into her tummy...how about: face, hands, ears, hair, jammies and chair....yes, got that covered. LITERALLY!

My chunky little sunflower! I LOVE all her "elastic lines" on her arms!

Emri has really started to sit up well on her own. It's so fun to watch her learn. We're still working on rolling over...it takes a lot of coaxing on mom and dad's part to get her to heave that big booty over!

The smile that makes my day! She likes to sit in her chair (except for when she drops her toy on the ground and can't reach it)!

Hopefully these videos will work... just don't mind my annoying baby talk in all of them! :)
Big girl sitting up!
The food fight at our house
Brett teaching E how to feed herself?! I'm not sure this is going to go over well with me....the cleaner of messes!
she's trying to fight back the gag reflex at 34 seconds....watch her dry heave! so funny!!

OH my goodness! I LOVE EVERY SINGLE PICTURE AND VIDEO!
I can't believe how mature E is - sitting up, eating sweet potatoes and feeding herself! WOW!
SHe is so good at sitting up! I'm so impressed that she can even play with a toy when she is sitting!
She is doing really good eating off a spoon! It was so fun to see the video's! I esp. love Brett's technique! Seemed to work! ;)
Poor thing trying to eat food! She is just too precious. She is growing so fast. How tall is she?
I can't believe how big she is getting! I swear you were just pregnant! She is so cute, and a good mix of the both of you!
Thanks for your hospital bag tips for me, they were VERY helpful and things I didn't even think about! Hope your cute little family is doing great! :)
Oh...and I LOVE this Brad Paisley song!!!
Okay, if she even thinks about pouting when I get there I will be SO UPSET! Maybe you should give her a picture of me to play with all day and then she'll be so excited! She is looking so much like brett! And I love her sunflower outfit.
I can't believe how big she is getting!! I don't blame her with the sweet potatoes... I can't stand them as an adult. I was going to tell you that it's the Whitear sisters from Morgan that are on America's got Talent and yes my husband is scouting for elk in that picture but I wasn't with him... I thought you knew.. I married the biggest outdoorsman EVER!! He is always trying to get me to learn to shoot a gun!
I loved all of those. What a cutie. I also love her elastic lines. I've never heard it put that way but thats exactly what they look like. I think baby food sucks! The only thing my babies would eat is fruit and sweet pototoes. Good luck with the feedings, at least you'll be entertained!
It's so frustrating trying to get them to eat and try new things! She is a champ holding the spoon, though.
She is such a doll! I LOVE her sunflower outfit! You always have her dressed so cute!
Any who - Sorry I don't have your email so hopefully you get this! I am going to place the Wood Connection order this Friday so if you are still interested in ordering, just let me know what you would like! You can get on the website from my blog if you haven't checked it out and then once everything arrives - we can plan an afternoon to get together or something!
Oh she is sitting up so well! Wow, I'm impressed.
You weren't kidding when you said that you were having a hard time with the solid foods. Hazel loves her rice cereal and I just started her on carrots yesterday and she's loving those too.
Maybe Emri's just a liquid-diet kind of girl. My niece hated and wouldn't eat any baby foods. Around 7 months she just started eating real food instead. I think the first think she willingly ate was a bread stick. Good luck with that.
Ohhhh she is so stinkin cute! You know what? Ty had no interest in solids until he was about 7 months old! I would try and try but he just didn't want them-every baby is different, Charlie could have started on solids at 3 weeks if I would have let him :)
I love all the pictures of the little stinker that won't eat! Ha!
That can be a little frustrating I'm sure...hang in there. She is sooo precious I can NOT wait to see her.
How great that she is already sitting up...what an accomplishment! I'm such a proud auntie.
